I'm almost done with the book and I got to say I don't get or like Star at all! I loved the story of Flora and I got the secret right from the start, her heritage, family history and so forth. My problem with Star is that I don't get her, she doesn't make sense to me, and I HATED that family! I didn't find them charming at all. In the beginning, I felt that they were all so old, but every once in awhile something will happen and I'll question myself because Star is messed up! Her emotions, thoughts and actions are weird, especially with this family and her sister. I think she is the least charming of the sisters so far.

I was very attracted to the fact that each one of the mythological sisters was, according to their legends, a unique and strong female. Some say they were the Seven Mothers who seeded our earth – there is no doubt that, in their stories, they were all highly fertile! – and had many children with the various Gods who were fascinated by their strength, beauty and ethereal air of mysticism. Stars Geschichte ist interessant und fesselnd, genau wie die von Flora. Beide versuchen ihren Platz in der Welt zu finden. This is a series well worth your time and attention if you are looking for something totally different from the norm, with a wealth of characters to get to know, and a plethora of places to discover as their stories are told, I cannot recommend it highly enough.There is nothing dishonest about love,’ Archie says to Flora, leading her to act drastically to protect Teddy. It really feels like a journey through time, with such amazing descriptions that you can't help but feel that you are there. It's great how the origin of the sisters is never quite expected, and I always end up surprised.

But I just couldn’t . . . because whatever lay inside it would mean accepting that Pa had gone. And I wasn’t prepared to let him go yet. Shortly before the publication of The Missing Sister , Lucinda announced an eighth and final book in The Seven Sisters series, promising to answer the question at the heart of the story: Who is Pa Salt? Before her death, Lucinda was able to write several important passages and detailed notes on the story. She expressed a clear wish that her eldest son, Harry, should complete the series if the worst were to happen. And I wanted to celebrate the achievements of women, especially in the past, where so often, their contribution to making our world the place it is today has been overshadowed by the more frequently documented achievements of men. The silent one who must find her voice – set in London and Edwardian England, featuring Royal scandals and Beatrix Potter in the beautiful Lake District.There are snippets of the Beatrix Potter story woven into Flora’s – their meeting and love of animals, a special letter and a friendship which would last for ever. The story here weaves throughout and much of what happens later is due to events in the Cumbrian hills. Kent CeCe went to the kitchen and I heard the whoosh of the tap being turned on full blast, knowing that the water had most likely spattered all over the worktops I had painstakingly wiped down earlier.
