About this deal

Just forgive the first 2 episodes because its extremely fanservicey so don't let that bum you out. It is very unfortunate to see it but happens alot in anime for its kind of desensitizing. Otherwise I wish there was more Yuria again, who might be a little too gullible for her own good this time around. Big praise to the ruthlessly funny omake, which has it both ways with its fan service and features the return of the most cliché bikini in all of manga. High school student Miko Yotsuya has the unfortunate ability to see horrifying ghosts and spirits that haunt her and the people around her. Despite this, Miko does her best to ignore the existence of ghosts and tries to live out a normal high school life. so yeah! overall pretty good, seems to update monthly though, so i'm probably gonna' forget about it for a few years before i remember it and catch up again. My only real complaint is that I felt like the volume had a bit too much in terms of fan service, some of which was creepy in not just a a horror sort of way and was not particularly appreciated. However, there are two areas that Mieruko-chan excels at above all else: character building and comedy. ESPECIALLY character building. The Miko’s been saved by the shrine maidens three times, fulfilling their implied contract with her. But now that she has no defence against the spirits she’s seeing, what lengths will she go to to make sure she’s safe?

a b Mateo, Alex (September 30, 2021). "Mieruko-chan Anime Casts Ikuko Tani, Yumiri Hanamori". Anime News Network . Retrieved September 30, 2021. I’m very scared of the “god” and his shrine maidens… now more than ever. I have a feeling that they’re up to something sinister… I wonder if Godmother will be able to help Miko learn some ways of protecting herself… This is one of the easier going images from the first book. In other words, expect an emphasis on the horror side of this horror comedy) found myself genuinely invested, as plotlines began to start and characters began to be established more thoroughly.

With Mitsue the mystic at home after retiring (after meeting Miko and Hana) she gets a strange photo and discovers the girls may need more help than she realized. In the mean time as oblivious as Hana is life goes on even though Miko has met a few relatively dangerous ghost that have realized her talent and the emissaries of whatever she saw at the strange shrine with Hana have already helped her a few times so she wants to make an offering as thanks but instead discovers a whole lot of new ghosts and thankfully Mitsue who takes the poor girl under her wing. Something dark is potentially in the air and Miko is one of the few able to see it coming yet. Then there is this mysterious man connected to Mitsue somehow...will he be friend or foe is yet to be revealed. OGAWA: Once again, because I'm a big scaredy-cat, I didn't watch horror things as a child, so I didn't particularly take inspiration from that kind of media. Even now, I can't watch horror by myself, so I watch the MIERUKO-CHAN anime with the staff. (laughs) One example from the first few chapters is this, Mieruko finds a stray and is looking for someone to adopt it. She refuses a few people until she comes across a person haunted by cats that have their tails split down the middle. Were there any hurdles or special considerations you had to undertake to adapt MIERUKO-CHAN into an anime? Initially, the series started with a somewhat simple concept. Was it difficult to expand on that idea in the earlier episodes? At first, it does really seem initially aimless. The art is pretty much the only good part. There's some fanservice, but nothing out of control (sadly the anime adaptation does exaggerate it). At first, I was only reading because I thought the art was good and I wanted to see what kind of monster designs and strange scenarios the author would come up with, but later, ICharacter - The main character is really cool. as more of a fact a badass. If I were in her shoes i'd lose my shit considering she is viewing some terrifying stuff. She makes brave faces and treats days as if it was normal. Once Hana gets more invested in trying to get a little peace and quiet, it improves - there’s a story with a fortune teller that’s pretty predictable but I still liked a lot. The comedic timing in that one is pretty sharp. So, what about the story? What makes it so great? I'll try to be as generic as I can to avoid spoiling anything. Initially, the story begins with the main character starting to experience paranormal activities and acting accordingly to make them stop, but as time goes on the focus shifts more on the characters growth and it makes it so that you can relate to them on what they're feeling and thinking in almost every situation. To put it simply, reading this manga feels like reading about a person trying to overcome a mental illness through a journey full of hardships and to me this is marvellous and a bit poetic. Miko is an average high school student but her world is changed forever when she suddenly sees and hears gruesome apparitions who manifest normally hidden from the rest of the unaware world. Being a teen Miko is not only not exited but she actively does whatever it takes to avoid letting these monstrous looking entities from knowing she is even aware of them as she does her best to protect herself and to a degree those around her unaware of what hides in plane sight (though even the worse of them do not seem to be corporeal enough to actually harm anyone...yet.)
