Aside from filling social media with a wealth of hilarious or jaw-dropping clips of incidents on the road, they fulfill a very important role of ensuring you don't find yourself on a wrong side of an unfair outcome if you're involved in an accident.

I’ve used screenless dashcams before that are much easier to control via an app like the Thinkware F200 Dashcam I reviewed way back in 2018. I was uncertain if the Haloview would connect as reliably from the Front bathroom cabinet area like John did (plan A), or if I would have to route it to the front Propane doghouse area (plan B). If the Halo Pro is hardwired, you can adjust the Parking Mode settings including the timing and battery levels. I had a very old dashcam previously and only front viewing and had an accident from the rear a few years ago, so for me this facility is a superb addition. I thought the design of the packaging, choice of font and colouring of the box showed class and represented a high quality product – attractively boxed. Didn’t feel safer on the road but more confident and would have been less worried in the case of an accident. I really like that even when it is switched on whilst driving, you can still see your rear view mirror and the added bonus of a reversing cam is superb for me as I am not known for being able to reverse park very well lol. Along with rear vent holes, there’s a single USB-C port on the back of the unit for the power cable.

The View is equipped with headlight suppression to enable clear, glare-free visuals which are projected onto your display for safe driving conditions. I was fortunate enough to be able to test the Halo Pro front and rear dashcam package from Road Angel. You can take a short segment of this portion and add titles and background music (although I didn’t try the music out). Another feature that was new to me after many years of driving with a dashcam, is the internal memory storage. To be honest I was very impressed with exactly how much this dash cam and its supporting app offered.
