Note: These vinyls are hand signed by Alex Grey on the cover OR the upper side of the vinyl itself; original packaging comes opened. This package features five 180gm black vinyl discs, with album tracks featured on Side A, and unique etchings featured on Side B. I just want to play the record and having to open the big heavy book and take a new disc out after every side feels like more effort than it’s worth.

Records housed inside a full-colour, mirror-board printed, hardcover book featuring alternate front cover artwork, extra artwork, lyrics and credits all within a full-colour, mirror-board printed hardcover slide-out box, although not advertised as a box-set. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse.It plays quiet, every instrument is represented well in the mix and the heavy sections rip on a good system. The included art and etchings on the reverse of the albums look great but doubt it is something I would display. The gatefold have a lot of nice images but what takes the whole down a bit is the insert, one side is a very nice artwork, the other is a sloppily produced information and lyrics sheet where the 7empest is both misspelled (Tempest) and lyrics omitted, the only reason seems lack of space . Both CD and these cards have snug pockets to put them in near the inside of each cover of the hardcover book.

Don't get me wrong, I have the original deluxe edition which is gorgeous, but the book edition is simply far more a convenient presentation for the shelf and regular use.The band’s efforts to unify musical experimentation, visual arts, and a message of personal evolution continued with the release of Lateralus in 2001, and 10,000 Days in 2006 - gaining Tool critical acclaim, and commercial success around the world. Good to have them back though, especially when the band appear to have used their time away productively. It takes time and repeated listens to appreciate each track but if you commit to it you will find amazing depth as the complexity and utter beauty of this music gets its hooks into you.
