About this deal

I've used Andrews Coatings quite a few times over the last few months and their service has always been first class. Tip: If you find the paint too thick, you can add water to gain the desired consistency – a thicker paint will give a more textured finish, whilst the thinner the paint, the smoother the end result. Give the paint a really good stir before application and then apply the paint in light coats with a brush or a roller depending on the item you’re painting. As well as creating the smooth finish, you can create a distressed look by sanding and scouring the surface once it is dry. It is our recommendation that a trial area is first coated to ensure the product is satisfactory to individual requirements.

Two layers will usually be enough unless the piece gets a lot of wear and tear, in which case you should use three to four layers. Once the paint has dried, use a fine grade sandpaper and lightly sand down the areas where you want to see the base colour. And for the finishing touch, add a layer of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax or Rust-Oleum Furniture Lacquer. Hold the can 30cm from surface and spray in a steady back and forth motion, slightly overlapping with each stroke. While we strive to deliver your parcel as quickly as possible, kindly allow up to 5 days for receipt in these regions. The matt, chalky finish is perfect for upcycling vintage gems and can be applied directly onto most surfaces. Shake the can vigorously for 1 minute after mixing ball begins to rattle and continue to shake regularly during use. A new coat of paint on wooden furniture can leave it looking brand new or help it suit a certain style. Allow to dry then lightly abrade with moistened sand paper or a stainless steel scouring pad - abrade with the grain of the wood. Also suitable for brick, stone, plaster or any suitably-primed rigid surface (such as metal or plastic). Ensure you take a step back every now and then to check that you are getting the best possible finish. If you want a solid finish, you will probably need two or three coats, but for a finish that you want to distress and sand back you will need fewer. For inspiration using the Rust-Oleum range, heand over to our blog and see our furniture transformations. Create a distressed look by applying two coats in contrasting colours then sanding / scouring when dry. Can be applied directly to bare or painted wood, brick, stone, plaster or any suitably primed rigid surface. Not necessary for most surfaces (simply ensure surfaces are smooth, dry and free from contaminants).
