About this deal

The more I used the E-M10 the more I enjoyed it but I also was starting to realize just how good the lens is. The E-M10 has “3 Axis” IS instead of the higher end bodies “5-Axis” but it works almost just as well.

The E-M10 Mark IV is approximately half the size and weight of other interchangeable lens systems, and is also the smallest OM-D. Im still keeping the fuji 23 around when fuji hopefully releases a fuji x body with a different sensor layout. ALL of these cameras have been wonderful to use and to shoot but especially these new camera bodies Olympus have been releasing over the past couple of years. yes, I have shot with them all (The E-P5 is the best of PEN’s) and of course the OM-D series all the way to the top of the Micro 4/3 heap with the Professional E-M1. However its 28-85mm equivalent range is little uninspiring compared to the 24mm wideangles now provided by most other brands.I was just wondering, if I were to get a EM-10 (as my first set of camera), which lens should I get? Olympus’s well-known image stabilization is a great countermeasure to that and it works well in the OM-D E-M10III. However, the things the E-M10 adds are rather nice - the rear screen is a noticeable improvement, as is the inclusion of the 'Adaptive Brightness' viewfinder technology first introduced in the E-M1.

Thank you for helping me make a decision and I shall come back regularly for your thoughts on various lenses. One major change, though, comes with the redesign of the rear screen, which can now be flipped down 180° to face forwards beneath the cameras for selfies. It presents all of the light-and-compact benefits of Micro Four Thirds, with a few more SLR-like touches (viewfinder and direct controls) that an enthusiast will appreciate.

Overcompensation is a known problem with some stabilization algorithms, showing its ugly head in various ways. We took to the streets for some portraits and shot a few macro photos for this first installment in our sample gallery. You can upload: image, audio, video, document, spreadsheet, interactive, text, archive, code, other. The forums in the DP Review site seems to indicate that the EM10 lens mount is so tight, people are having trouble mounting and dismounting lenses. The E-M10 is an awesome little camera that offers the same image quality as the E-M1, but in a much smaller (but high quality) and more affordable package. It just seems like a more polished lens and when using it on a Olympus body it is one of those lenses that just “works”. When I wrote my Fuji X-T1 review HERE I mentioned that I had some issues with blown highlights and the Fuji X-Trans sensor.
