About this deal

Jurassic Park: Danger is a 2-5 player adventure strategy game, produced by Ravensburger and set on Isla Nublar which pits one player controlling the dinosaurs against up to four other players trying to fix the facility and escape the island. The puzzle-esque nature is interesting and each tile has its own unique design making for a visually appealing game. go to the player's discard pile but characters have to burn a card (take it completely out of play) whenever they are attacked by a dinosaur and whenever they recycle the cards in their discard pile to replenish their hand - much like the 'long rest' action in Gloomhaven (Cephalofair). So to help bring back those old feelings, it was a moment of joy when we came across Jurassic Park: Danger!

After you roll the dice, you can choose to boost your roll by burning a card from your hand and adding the number shown on the bottom of the card to the dice roll. Cinematic gameplay - One player controls savage dinosaurs while the others play as a group of iconic characters working together to outsmart the dinosaurs and survive Excellent for Fmaily Games Night.

They show you on the back where they can be placed but you do so faced down so you cant see where each tile will be until you turn them all over. You think it’s over when your character finally dies only for the rules to state you regenerate as a new character. The Dilophosaurus can spit into adjacent tiles, the Velociraptor can sprint across two tiles in one turn and the T-Rex can deal double damage.

Once a player has no more cards in their hand, the character they are playing is eliminated from the game. Since (s)he knows what the characters’ goals are (including activating the locations), it’s really easy to cut people off. They burn the cards by putting them into a burn pile and drawing the number of cards burned from the discard pile. The game play is fast-paced and exciting, with players having to make strategic decisions to outsmart the dinosaurs and complete missions. The other players control a team of human characters, who work to regain control of the park and escape to the heliport before it's too late!Ione really enjoyed how the game has so many characters (almost everyone in the original film is playable) but also felt the game does not always know what to do with them all, making the game feel clunky and awkward at times. The humans may play as many Free Action cards as they wish after all cards played during step two are resolved.

Put the board in the middle of the table and then separate the tiles by type: Start, Center, Perimeter. Once all of the locations have been activated, the humans must make their way to the helicopter pad with their goal tokens. I bought special editions of the DVD’s when I was older, and I still listen to the soundtrack with awe. This is important because those cards, aside from being your actions, also double-up as your hit points. If a dinosaur happens to be on one of those locations, simply move the dinosaur to an adjacent location of the human player’s choice. Grant’s “give me your hand” which allows players to move another character, potentially out of danger. Unfortunately, we would almost rather delve into a game of Betrayal at House on the Hill with the traitor mechanic than play this game with a starting opposite team. In this way then, players' decks double as countdown timers, hit point trackers and luck mitigators.

Just like those controlling the humans randomly select their character (and thus get random special abilities and goals), the dinosaur player must randomly select just 2 of the 3 possible dinosaurs to play with. It’s fun to play different characters each time because of how closely aligned their personal goals and special actions are with the original movie. The game includes a modular game board that can be rearranged to create different scenarios, as well as 3 different dinosaur miniatures that bring the park to life. Suitable for ages 10 plus this strategy game involves team work, forward planning and the willingness to sacrifice yourself for the greater good if necessary. That’s when we landed on our house rule to always play with 4 human characters in the game – no matter the number of players. Everything is done very professionally with this company and always lets you know every step of the process.
