Having read all of the Nick Stone series from Andy McNab this novel gives a suitable end to that series but still leaves an opening for another Nick Stone novel to be created. An agent whose time is running out But there are deadly complications - not least that Nick soon discovers himself at the heart of a chilling cyber conspiracy that threatens war with Russia and the very existence of the Western alliance . We do get more a peek into his thought processes, and a decent fistful of the major mistakes, brutal action, and excessive personal damage that are the namesake protagonist's trademark. But there are deadly complications - not least that Nick soon discovers himself at the heart of a chilling cyber conspiracy that threatens war with Russia and the very existence of the Western alliance .

I guess author McNab has done just about everything he can with this character in a series starting back in 1998. honestly, it is a book full of blablabla, some old pals which resemble his last sort of family, NO mentioning of any of his former life or adventures, NO considerable action, no nothing, if it is not the last nick stone novel (as promised within the book), it definitely will be the lasts for me.

and that following a shocking diagnosis his body is failing him fast, and any day now he will have to ask himself the ultimate question . Published in 1997, Remote Control was hailed as the most authentic thriller ever written and has sold over half a million copies in the UK. Started off as a good read but fell off in my eyes when he reached the settlement where Mary ‘was being held’.

Part of the problem is that she may not want to be rescued and the group do not seem cult like at all. Besides his writing work, he lectures to security and intelligence agencies in both the USA and UK, works in the film industry advising Hollywood on everything from covert procedure to training civilian actors to act like soldiers. having read mcnab's non-fiction books as well as the entire nick stone series more than twice, this latest novel is a new low in a considerable line of lacking suspense, credibility or anything else that could make a book worthwhile to read.

Nick is as down to earth and resourceful as ever, but with a serious moral conscience that he’s never shown before. With both author and hero getting on in the years, it's time to bow out, and that's just what they do. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

This is the final novel in the long running Nick Stone series which began way back in 1998 and drew heavily on the author’s own knowledge and experience of Special Forces soldiering. Awarded both the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) and Military Medal (MM) during his military career, McNab was the British Army's most highly decorated serving soldier when he finally left the SAS in February 1993. But this comes over as a mess, when Stone thinks about himself, there is no mention of the family and money we have seen in the previous books. I'm left wondering if AM had a book contract to fulfil as its the last in the series and this was him getting back at the publishers. It just felt a bit plodding to me, the action sequences weren’t as gripping as normally and it just felt a bit predictable.A sinister cult Tasked with rescuing the daughter of one of America's richest families from the grips of a sinister cult, Nick Stone expects his latest mission to be quick and straightforward. The CD spoken word version of Bravo Two Zero, narrated by McNab, sold over 60,000 copies and earned a silver disc. He wrote about his experiences in three books: the phenomenal bestseller Bravo Two Zero, Immediate Action and Seven Troop. I am a fast reader and the fact that (I think) this is my first ever 1 star review reflects how I feel I wasted 5 days struggling through this (its NO page turner. Having read all the previous books, some more than once, I am not sure I will read the next if it happens.
