During the last desperate days of WWII, a solitary prospector (Jorma Tommila) crosses paths with Nazis on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland. Debris falling down, weapons being discharged, gun blasts, and physical punches all pack a powerful bite. The movie currently has a 94% "Fresh" score from critics and a 92% positive score from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.You might think there’s zero mileage left in the movies for psychopathic Nazis, but Helander finds a newish and sort-of-interesting angle here with his portrayal of Germans at the fag end of the conflict: war-addled and woozy, dressed in torn uniform with dead eyes and grimy faces.

the maelstrom Aatami creates as he marauds his way through Nazi hordes to get to the bank (more or less, anyway). Spending most of his time watching new movies at the theater or classics on TCM, some of Michael's favorite movies include Casablanca, Moulin Rouge! Mild noises of the wind, distant footsteps, and more all allow the surround speakers to voice some exquisite sound effects. Korpi is forced to use all of his wilderness survival skills and his inner strength, or sisu, to outwit and outfight his Nazi pursuers. While this might be more meaningful to me as a Finn, I would assume that if you enjoy mid-budget action, this will be right up your alley (although, at 6 million euros, the budget was much lower than what would be considered midlevel in bigger markets).
