About this deal

The new cable with swappable headphone plugs is a nice addition, which makes the S12 Pro compatible with a wider range of sources. The S12 Pro that is based on the original S12 comes now with some updates like a new detachable cable with “swappable headphone plugs”, a new color and some minor tunings of the sound. The shells are fashioned from a five-axis CNC (computer numerical control) process, with a small L and R circle on the housings denoting the left and right sides respectively. Single DD, hybrids, and pure BA IEMs were excluded from the comparison as the different transducer types have their own pros and cons.

Please note that I have an eclectic taste in music, and in headphones and earphones, as I do not believe in having multiples of the same sound signature. Of course you might be more sensitive than I am to this region but you should remember that I don't like bright, unforgiving and analytical stuff and the S12 PRO is not. In using a newer nozzle filter that is what Letshuoer is doing to create a newer “pro” version by lowering these aspects for better balance but then you throw on a more resolving silver plated monocrystalline copper cable? Its speedy transient quality applies to the mids bands and this will be the greatest part of contention among purists. Very good imaging, soundstage, micro-details, holographic soundstage if amplified (needs amplification as it is quite hard to drive). I would have liked to see the treble tuning here just a bit lowered and we are talking about 2 dbs and that would have balanced out the treble presence for better versatility.

LETSHUOER S12 Planar IEM - Head-Fi.org

There is plenty of harmonic wealth and realism, the timbre is natural and colorful with great chromatic variety, you can hear the uniqueness of every singer's voice and single instrument. The LetShuoer S12 Pro shares the same shape with the original S12, which is a pretty compact monitor with a minimalistic industrial design. Female vocals like Adel, Diana Krall or Edith Piaf are reproduced in a pretty lively, emotional and detailed way. The LetShuoer S12 Pro is a relative easy to drive Planar Driver IEM thanks to its impedance of 16Ω and a sensitivity of approx. You’ll get this impression mostly with vocals though, as you can always tell that there are layers of detail in each voice. The level of clarity, airiness and detail retrieval is one of the highlights of the S12 Pro in the midrange area. The accessories are befitting of a mid-FI pair of IEMs, and everything is entirely usable out-of-the-box. The upper treble region of the P2 creates a higher sense of airiness and sparkle, while it sound a bit too energetic and unnatural compared to the S12 that offers a better level of control in this area. The 2-Pin connectors do have a metal housing in blue color that Left (transparent) and Right (red) color indicators. The rear surface of LetShuoer S12 Pro features the slightly angled sound nozzle and one of the two vent holes, which is part of the rear acoustic chamber.

S12 Pro - PLANARy Session - Headphonesty Review: LETSHUOER S12 Pro - PLANARy Session - Headphonesty

Same at the office: once plugged in, the ears completely cut me off from my colleagues, when music played. Bass does a great job supporting the mids and trebles of the S12 pro but it's certainly not a featured aspect for the S12 pro tuning. The original S12 differs from the S12 Pros, in that the originals seem to have a touch more mid-bass impact, less treble and are slightly more closed in.

You will hear them treble notes with full strength of the treble accents that accompany this type of music. He is a seasoned voice in the audio community, with a notable presence on Head-Fi and has previously wrote for Audioreviews. There is only one thing you could get for your Letshuoer S12 Pro: a good source like a DAC/AMP or a DAP, I’d suggest something small and simple like the KA5, iBasso’s DC04 Pro or ddHiFi TC44C. Having taken Music as subject during his "O" Level examinations in Singapore, baskingshark boasts nearly two decades of experience playing both the piano. I didn’t notice any remarkable negative conditions such like muddiness or mixings when I have listen to songs like Gogo Penguin’s “Raven” or Charly Antolini’s “Duwadjuwandadu” that do have some complex bass passages.
