About this deal

As related previously, Tad Williams has shockingly (cough) failed to break with convention by writing the concluding volume of his Last King of Osten Ard sequence so long that it had to be split in two.

This book not only corrects those flaws, but develops her into the worthy protagonist that the earlier books promised. His genre-creating (and genre-busting) books have sold tens of millions worldwide, in twenty-five languages. Did I need all the scenes that make up Into the Narrowdark, or all the details that make up some of the scenes? Forse, soltanto, dal fatto che essendo il finale in due parti bisognerà aspettare altro tempo per trovare finalmente le risposte che attendiamo. It's incredibly good, and what I've been waiting for in this sequel series to Mermory, Sorrow and Thorne. With this book, The Last King of Osten Ard has achieved the greatest possible feat for a sequel: that is, I can no longer imagine the originals without it * TOR. No doubt a number of readers will react more adversely to the slow pacing, though I have to imagine those one gave up on Williams halfway through whichever book of his they picked up first. While the conclusion of those books was perfect for the time and for the story, I was concerned on picking up the sequel trilogy/tetrad that either Williams or the “Commoner King” hadn’t grown. I know I have a thread for the last 10 chapters along with the Hakatri interlude and The Afterward but I felt we could make a more official full spoilers thread.

It helps that Williams offers up a variety of scene types: several battle scenes, a jailbreak, a mental clash of wills, some villain monologuing (one of the weaker moments in the book I’d argue), some chase scenes, some tense one-on-one confrontations, a plot arc that almost feel like horror, and more. These things happen, of course, but they do so in due time (perhaps due “deep time” is more accurate for Williams). As I said, I’m moving forward finishing Navigator’s Children, and I think I’ve got the hardest of the problems dealt with.I put aside the half of the story which would become NVC(and finalized INDwhile also writing Brothers of the Wind( BotW).
