About this deal

The sound stage: was enough for this IE 200 to drive that enjoyable wide sound keeping the price in mind. All IE series Vocals will be perfect and the same IE 200 also had the same in delivering. Since I received this unit from my fellow audiophile Pulkit Dreamz, I am grateful to him. And as I've said in all of my evaluations, the same is true for this one: all of the concepts I've expressed below are entirely my own, original ideas that haven't been influenced by anyone else. If interested, go to this link. The Sennheiser IE 200 has a simple but lovely design, and it shares its form factor with its higher end siblings. This time round Sennheiser chose a more minimalist build, probably also to keep the selling price as low as possible. Like the IE 300, the IE 200 comes in a type of plastic and not aluminium.

To be able to deliver such detailed and analytical sound at what is a relatively affordable price is a real achievement and a testament to Sennheiser’s technical expertise. The IE 200 aren’t without a few shortcomings, however.I always use Wide Bore Tips and the S&S tips are in there but because of their longer nature without taper you can get a deeper insertion works for the IE200 nicely. More positives are that the soundstage is easily coherent and described with width, more so than the similarly priced Letshuoer S12 Pro. There are good levels of detail and clarity – if there is any distortion, I haven’t heard any. Imaging and Sound Stage: Decent instrument separation mostly only left and right because of the moderate sound stage.

This remarkable lightness (4g/side) is achieved by using a plastic shell. Despite being all plastic, the IE 200 feel well put together. The left channel has the model number embossed into the shell. A very warm welcome! Sennheiser, to the entry level space of audiophiles with the IE 200s. It’s an addition to their existing IE series lineup of IEMs IE900, IE 600 and IE 300. Let’s have a look at it closely in this review. Stereo imaging and instrument separation proved highly impressive, too. During the intro to the 2013 remaster of The Eagles’ “Hotel California” there’s a subtle rattle of maracas to the left of the soundstage and what sounds like swirling wind to the right of it. These were both readily identifiable and accurately positioned but also very much part of a cohesive arrangement and not detached or distant from the lead guitar. That ability to convey individual elements distinctly while creating a fleshed-out, engaging sonic picture is something the IE 200 do very well. The earphones’ driver setup, source device, and quality of music you’re listening to all influence the eventual sound. What qualities does the Sennheiser IE 200 bring to proceedings?

Should you buy the Sennheiser IE 200?

Supplied with three sizes of silicone and three sizes of memory foam ear tips, there’s a fitting to suit you. The angled design fits snugly, meaning that you get a natural level of sound isolation from the outside world.
