About this deal

I don't think there is anything more disappointing than audibly thanking god with a deep sigh of relief for finishing a book. Especially when you thought this would be a solid 4-5 star read.

The presence of people we love will change our outlook to something we disliked earlier. We can see how Piper started liking Westport after falling in love with Brendon. It’s easy to dismiss someone like Piper, she's very much painted as an airhead, who indulges in the frivolities and luxuries of life but also chooses to use that as a coverup. Social media was her coverup. Not that she’s necessarily conscious of it at first. But that lifestyle became comfortable. year-old Stella Alonso is a social media influencer and fashion blogger, who is introverted in real life. She loves drinking wheatgrass smoothies and spending time with her 3 best friends Ava, Bridget and Jules. Piper takes those words so hard. Being dumbed at a party in front of the crowds and public humiliation on social media trigger her to make a foolish mistake. She trespasses the Mondrian hotel to give an after party at the roof top pool, inviting thousands of people. It was like an early 4th of July celebration! Then she finds herself at jail with full bladder, raccoon eye makeup and lots of humiliation. This book left a permanent smile on my face. It's feel-good romance with a side of steam. It's grumpy cinnamon roll meets high maintenance babe deliciousness. It's Schitt's Creek meets Legally Blonde meets Clueless. Her best and only friend/ sister Hannah gets her out of jail. She thinks she could get away with this scandal but her rich stepfather Daniel who is highly achieved Hollywood producer thinks otherwise. The Mondrian Hotel’s owner finances his next movie so the stunt Piper pulled affects the future of his upcoming project. To teach her a lesson he has a perfect plan: Piper will be exiled to a small Pacific Northwestern town: Westport . That’s the place sisters’ fisherman father lived and died at the sea when they were little girls. Their mother couldn’t handle her grief so well so she cut her ties with the place. she got a choice: Quit and prove all the assholes they were right about her worthlessness or..... finally find something deeper than the shallow, surface level life she has been living. THIS MAN IS THE BLUEPRINT!!!!! Literally him having a handyman install a foam cover on the bottom of the top bunk bed because she hurt her forehead on it and he NOTICED AND DID NOT LIKE. I already told too much. I feel like I’m your chatty neighbor who speaks without breathing when she loves something passionately. But I truly loved this book soooo much!

They (Piper and Hannah) decide to reform this bar as an ode to their father, to rehash some memories that they’ve lost and to come to terms with their past. But throughout it all, Piper discovers herself and her duality and her many complexities and that she’s allowed her presence on social media to rule her life. Surface level wasn’t enough for her any longer and I loved that she came to that realisation in her own way. I really enjoyed this book, and I highly recommend. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 Is because the first two books were 5 stars, and I didn’t love this one as much. I just wasn’t able to get as emotionally invested in this book as the other two.

Can we take a moment to talk about how adorable the Piper and Brendan pairing is? Piper appears a bit frivolous at first with her glamorous exterior, but underneath is an optimistic gal with a heart of gold. And Brendan is clearly besotted with her, though he tries hard to hide it beneath his grouchy, reticent demeanor. How cute is that! Honestly, I just can't get enough of the grumpy/sunshine trope. The #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Summer and Hook, Line, and Sinker brings the heat in this rom-com about two enemies who team up to flip a house because their chemistry will either burn the place down or ignite a passion that neither can ignore... Now as a punishment Piper will spend three months at this town, taking over the bar she inherited from her father and live in a dilapidated apartment. Since this is a Tessa Bailey, of course it comes with a public service announcement regarding the steam factor. Please watch out, especially if it's your first one by her. She definitely isn't shy about including explicit, open-door scenes, even though the cute cover will have you thinking otherwise.

There’s age gap and while not full on enemies to lovers there’s definitely a lot of contention between these two in the beginning of their story that fuels a fire between them. Wes is observant and wise beyond his years given his upbringing. He sees through Bethany and gets under her skin in a way she isn’t sure she loves at first! ⁣WHAT ABSOLUTELY RUINED THIS BOOK FOR ME THOUGH was the sheer ridiculousness and laughable convenience of the third act conflict. Bethany is branching out on her own with her first flip. She likes to portray perfection in absolutely everything she does and she wants this house to be no different. Wes is new to Port Jefferson. He’s arrived in town to look after his niece and is learning everything as he goes. I LOVE a Hate to Love trope more than any other, but this one just didn't live up to how passionate and real feeling the last book was. Love Her or Lose Her was just sooooooo good, and the pacing was so perfect, that it's difficult to follow that up.
