Earth is an open world engine builder for 1 to 5 players with simple rules but tons of strategic possibilities. With its encyclopedic nature and the enormous number of unique cards and combinations, every single game will allow you to discover new synergies and connections, just as our vast and fascinating world allows us to do! You start the usual way by getting your cards, composting the required amount and getting some soil. Then you can take an action of your choice. Gaia will also benefit from your actions. There’s also an option to increase the difficulty by using the row along the bottom of the board. Not that the difficulty needs to be increased as Gaia is tough, but once you’ve mastered the game it’s a nice alternative. First out has to pay an eye-watering seven gold coins. If you’re happy to pay, great; the board is your oyster. Current cost a bit rich for your blood, though? No shame in that – you can pass, instead. Regardless, the cost marker slides down one value. The next Master Builder gets drawn from the bag. Now it’s their turn to decide: they can visit any vacant spot for six coins, or pass, and so on. Earth is an engine building game played over rounds in which each player gets a turn creating their own island with its terrain and flora. The game ends at the end of the round in which a player completes their island of 16 cards in a 4x4 grid. In every game of The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth, you and your friends become heroes of the Free Peoples of Middle-earth, preparing your skills and testing your might and wisdom in combat against the encroaching darkness. Each of the iconic characters you can choose to embody have their own special abilities to contribute to your Fellowship, giving each one a distinct identity for your campaign. Players will start by choosing a character and rolling the dice to determine their starting location. From there, they'll embark on a thrilling journey, encountering fascinating facts and intriguing challenges at every turn. Whatever circumstances you find yourself in, your journeys begin in a small corner of Middle-earth with an invitation to venture across the lavishly illustrated, double-sided journey map tiles. Over the course of a round, players move through the world, revealing new tiles and gradually discovering more of Middle-earth. But exploring the world does much more than expand the map. It also fills the tiles with new points of interest to search, new people to encounter, and new threats to confront. Journeys in Middle-earth The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth

In Advanced Mode, players get more choices of Island, Climate and Ecosystem cards at the start of the game but the gameplay is the same as Standard Mode. When a Fauna or an Ecosystem card mention Flora, it means that it applies only to green planted cards (Tree, Herb, Mushroom, Bush) in your tableau. If they mention cards, it means all cards in your tableau and possibly Island and Climate cards. At any time except in the middle of an action or ability, players can convert 3 sprouts to 2 soil (but not the other way around). Note that 3 sprouts is 3 points at the end of the game.

Epic Adventure

Phase II is the headline event: worker placement. Everyone puts their three Master Builder pawns into a draw-bag. The first player reveals a pawn. The owner of this Master Builder places this pawn wherever they want. These locations gain you resources, extra Craftsmen, getting cosy with King Stephen, and more.
