I don’t think you’ll find much difference in cup quality for mokapot or other brew methods between the two to be honest. The DCP has a smaller hopper capacity, it doesn’t have the LCD display, and the motor is slightly less powered, but in terms of grind range and performance, there’s likely to be very little difference. Today, pour-over consists of pouring water over coffee grounds in cone or funnel shaped dripper containing a filter (typically made of paper or cloth).

At the moment I use pre-ground coffee from a local roasting company, of course in 3 different courses. But I want to start grinding beans myself and being able to tweak it for improved brew time and taste. I'd seen the Dose Control Pro from Sage, the slightly cheaper sibling of the Smart Grinder Pro, which was tempting, but I just really liked the look of the Smart Grinder Pro, and I'd seen that the power of the motor was slightly smaller on the Dose Control Pro (130W Vs 165W). Espresso coffee, in particular, requires an excellent quality grind, whereas drip coffee and coffee for cafetiere may allow you to be slightly more forgiving since they use a coarser grind. There is also the option of the blade grinder, which uses a blade to grind the beans. But, they are typically inconsistent when compared to the former. Look for control features on the grinder to guarantee you receive a consistent grind to get the perfect coffee shot. Coarse grounds are recommended for cold drip to avoid any fine grounds which could make the coffee taste over-extracted.
