About this deal

The concurrent use of aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and ethanol may lead to gastrointestinal (GI) blood loss. Radian B muscle rub is a cream containing menthol, camphor, methyl salicylate and capsicum oleoresin. It works by reducing inflammation and by causing counter-irritation in the area where it is applied, which helps to soothe pain in the underlying tissues.

Blood pressure and cardiovascular status should be monitored closely during the initiation of NSAID treatment and throughout the course of therapy.Hypertension interaction Oral NSAIDs, including ibuprofen, can sometimes be associated with renal impairment, aggravation of active peptic ulcers, and can induce allergic bronchial reactions in susceptible asthmatic patients. Although the systemic absorption of topically applied ibuprofen is less than for oral dosage forms, these complications can occur in rare cases. For these reasons, patients with a history of kidney problems, an active peptic ulcer, asthma or intolerance to aspirin or ibuprofen should seek medical advice before using Radian B Ibuprofen 5% w/w Gel. Humira, Buprenex, aspirin, prednisone, acetaminophen, tramadol, meloxicam, duloxetine, cyclobenzaprine, Paracetamol The manufacturer of this medicine recommends that mothers should avoid using this medicine while breastfeeding. However, ibuprofen taken by mouth passes into breast milk in such small quantities that it is unlikely to harm the baby, hence ibuprofen gel is also unlikely to be harmful. As with all medicines, seek medical advice from your doctor before using this medicine if you are breastfeeding. There are currently no other medicines available in the UK that contain this combination of active ingredients.

The symptoms of overdose are presented in individuals that consumed more than 99 mg/kg. Most common symptoms of overdose are abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, lethargy, vertigo, drowsiness (somnolence), dizziness and insomnia. Other symptoms of overdose include headache, loss of consciousness, tinnitus, CNS depression, convulsions and seizures. May rarely cause metabolic acidosis, abnormal hepatic function, hyperkalemia, renal failure, dyspnea, respiratory depression, coma, acute renal failure, and apnea (primarily in very young pediatric patients). This cream is unlikely to significantly affect other medicines when applied to unbroken skin. However, the manufacturer recommends that people taking warfarin should get advice from their doctor or pharmacist before using this cream, as if enough salicylate is absorbed through the skin it could potentially enhance the anti-blood-clotting effect of warfarin. There is no information available about the safety of this medicine during pregnancy. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy, unless considered essential by your doctor. Seek medical advice from your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant.

Patients who have previously shown hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. asthma, rhinitis, angioedema, or urticaria) in response to aspirin or other NSAIDs. Serious skin reactions, some of them fatal, including exfoliative dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and toxic epidermal necrolysis have been reported rarely in association with the use of NSAIDs (see section 4.8). Patients appear to be at highest risk of these reactions early in the course of therapy, the onset of the reaction occurring in the majority of cases within the first month of treatment. Acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) has been reported in relation to ibuprofen-containing products. Ibuprofen should be discontinued, at the first appearance of signs and symptoms of severe skin reactions, such as skin rash, mucosal lesions, or any other sign of hypersensitivity.Apply the lotion on the affected part once or twice, leaving 10-15 minutes between applications. Smooth in or massage if preferred. If necessary, repeat application up to three times daily, reducing to morning and evening when acute symptoms subside. Major] Fluid retention and edema have been reported in association with the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The dose should not be repeated more frequently than every four hours and no more than 4 times in any 24 hour period. Radian B has multiple actions in different inflammatory pathways involved in acute and chronic inflammation. The main effects reported in ibuprofen are related to the control of pain, fever and acute inflammation by the inhibition of the synthesis of prostanoids by COX-1 and COX-2. Pain relief is attributed to peripheral affected regions and central nervous system effects in the pain transmission mediated by the dorsal horn and higher spinothalamic tract. Some reports have tried to link the pain regulation with a possible enhancement on the synthesis of endogenous cannabinoids and action on the NMDA receptors. The effect on pain has been shown to be related to the cortically evoked potentials. Camphor, methyl salicylate and capsicum oleoresin are counter-irritants. When applied to the skin they cause cause redness and a sensation of heat to be produced. This distracts the brain from the original pain and therefore reduces the perception of pain.
