About this deal

These speakers do exactly what they are supposed to. As well as that there is a feature that i was unaware of. The DM 40 monitors are missing some strength and accuracy in the top end. Each speaker has 21W of power behind them – this is not a lot, but more than enough to practice your mixing skills comfortably, and casually enjoy music, movies, and games.

Ideally, you want to have dedicated floor speaker stands, if your place allows for them. Having them increases the spread of the sound image and minimizes the vibrational bleeding of the cabinets. The Bluetooth module included on the DM-40 is simply for easier casual listening. Making the DM-40 an easier speaker to live with day to day, the inclusion of Bluetooth broadens the speakers appeal. Although we regularly used the Bluetooth connection with our phones and laptop we found the physical analogue cable sounded slightly better. Wanted some small speakers for bbq and small house parties. These are great. Fantastic sound for the size. When it comes to how it’s built, this speaker feels solid and firm. The speaker has a beautiful crescent diffuser to lead the high frequencies that nest around the bass driver. Furthermore, this speaker has two ports in the front. These ports ensure that you can mount the speaker next to a wall without effect. The sound is full, rounded, and the immediate impression is of a pair of speakers that sound bigger than they look. If anything, the treble is a little muted.

Phoned first to say what I needed and for what use..I was told that these were popular and would suite my needs... Finally a headphone connections (1/8th TRRS) is found on the front of the left speaker. Once connected mutes output the loudspeaker. Ideal for late night sessions, should the speaker be permanently connected to your device of choice. Bluetooth Model (DM-40BT) It’s also worth noting that the speakers bluetooth will play at the same time as any physically connected devices. With no way of turning off the bluetooth module, anybody previously paired to your speaker can play over your DJ set with ease. Our Thoughts The most notable thing is that unbalanced cables can suffer from interference. This problem only really becomes an issue if you are running the cables over longer distances. Or if you have a large number of other cables near your unbalanced cables. What does stand out is that Pioneer succeeded in delivering on its promise of low distortion. Even as the speakers get quite loud, there is no noticeable harshness. The amplifiers in the DJ DM 40 speakers are designed to ensure minimal levels of low distortion, even when cranking the volume. The tweeters and woofers are both aligned with each other so that there is no crossover between them. The specially engineered ducts cut down on impediments and produce a clean, grand, low-end oomph regardless of your volume levels. Class AB Amplifiers This 2-way active speaker has an AB amplifier embedded in the left speaker. You’ll also find connections and controls for the speaker on the left speaker. One limitation to this speaker is that you can't swap which speaker functions as a left or right speaker. If you want a flexible speaker placement, you can achieve it with the available audio connections and how long your power cable is.

From my years of being an audio enthusiast, one thing I've learned about entry-level speakers is that they're not all that good. They sound like, well, entry-level speakers. So, you can imagine my surprise when I tested yet another entry-level speaker, and it sounded the way it did. Yes, I'm talking about the Pioneer DM 40 speaker. I have it connected to the Pioneer Dj XDJ-RX for my home Radio Shows recording, as well connected to my computer for music production. Only after the volume is above 70%, one can start to notice unpleasant artifacts coming through. However, having them blast at just below that amount will be more than enough power for most casual uses. The cabinets' curved front edges provide maximum rigidity and minimum resonance for a clean sound at all volumes - and they'll look good in your home set-up. The Pioneer DM-40 studio monitors offer excellent value. It’s because of this that they are often bundled with beginner controllers. For a few hundred dollars you can get a setup that gets you started in the world of DJing.Unlike what you might have heard before about budget speakers and how they sound, this budget speaker seems to raise the bar for how budget speakers should sound. For starters, beginner DJ would love the punch it produces when they play songs through it. It doesn't punch as hard as premium speakers, but I think it's simply impressive, especially for a portable budget speaker. According to Pioneer, this helps the DM 40 speakers achieve its impressively low-distortion at higher volumes. First Impressions / Setting Up Deliveries will be made subject to the terms and conditions of the courier company. djkit.com will not be held responsible for late deliveries. The front mounted bass ports help the bass driver drop lower, moving more air as a result. Although most speakers feature a bass port, they are often found on the rear of the speaker. As a result most speakers suffer in performance if mounted close to a wall. Thankfully, Pioneer DJ have placed two ports on the front of the speaker, meaning the DM-40 is perfectly suited to being placed close to a wall.

About Us

The DM-40 also offers high volumes. Great for connecting a DJ controller to practice at home. They are not loud enough for a party, but we do not use studio monitors for loud parties or events anyway. The sound of these speakers is not loud enough to fill an entire room evenly. Even at higher volumes, distortion was very marginal. If you want a cheap studio monitor kit that has decent sound, the DM40 is an ideal choice. The DM-40's ¾-inch soft dome tweeters are fitted with DECO convex diffusers that channel high frequencies in every direction. So you’ll enjoy a wide sweet spot and 3D stereo sound wherever you sit or stand. The DECO convex diffuser is mounted in the tweeters of the Pioneer DM 40, ensuring that the high-frequency content is distributed evenly in each direction.
