About this deal

In fact, Leo Fender actually started building amps before moving into the manufacturing of guitars. The Fender Mustang is Don’t underestimate it for its size, because the amp is very powerful, even beyond a typical practice amp. It comes with 20 watts of solid state power, which is easily enough for home use and even mic’d gigs. I know this from personal experience. I played my first 3 or 4 gigs with just this amp. The amp was obviously mic’d, because 20 watts of solid-state through an 8” speaker isn’t enough to keep up with a band.

Fender Mustang I V2 Review (2023) - Killer Guitar Rigs

The amp doesn’t feel too heavy and feels quite well made. Being a small amp you’re less likely to cause serious damage if you drop it. My students who own this amp have never reported any issues with the amp or with the software. Overall impression With dimensions of 27.31 x 52.07 x 45.09 cm, the Fender Mustang III is a conveniently portable amp. Its weight of 36lbs makes it comfortable to travel with between gigs, shows, or events. We like that all the controls are on the top of the amp, making it easy for players to tweak effects or volume during play. Construction Even though Fender no longer supports the FUSE software, there are ways around this, and once competitors see a gap in the market, who knows what could come next. The USB port means that you can connect the Mustang III to your computer and play about it with an unlimited number of features, sounds, and effects. The Build There are 24 fully customizable factory presets that can all be accessed right on the amp. There are three banks of eight presets. You can see which bank you’re on by looking at the color of the LED light. Green = bank 1, Orange = bank 2, and Red = bank 3.We’ll explore the core features of this amp, look at how it performs as well as its pros and cons. We will also investigate some alternatives that are out there as well.

The Fender Mustang I V2 guitar combo amp adds new features to one of the best-selling amp series in the world. Get the flexibility you've come to expect from a Mustang. The V.2 series raises the standard for versatility and muscle. These tiny little tube-driven heads have 20 watts of solid-state power, so there’s plenty of clean headroom for home use. The only catch is you have to hook it up to a cabinet for it to work. The Fender Mustang III comes after the lower-powered I and II, with a larger 100-W and single 12-inch speaker; it has managed to be still compact and portable. The LCD screen and large data wheel are a modern-day finish to the traditional Fender cabinet. The quality of this amp surprised me. I’ve heard quite a few budget amps before as my students often bring their amps into lessons for me to explain how to use them. Quite often the tone sounds cheap (eg: I have vivid memories of hearing the then-new Marshall MG series and the ridiculously horrible sounds it spat out). The quality of this amp was a pleasant surprise. The effects were actually very high quality and very surprising. Quite often budget amps have poor sounding effects that feel very digital. The effects with the Mustang were actually very usable.USB connectivity for high-quality, low-latency audio output and interface with free Fender® FUSE™ PC application You would expect significant volume from the 100-watt power section, but we have to say that the Mustang III doesn’t cut as well as other models – particularly the Fender Deluxe. However, times have moved on from loud being the be-all and end-all when it comes to amps. It does, however, still have the capacity to fill a venue adequately. Growing up in rural Australia, there wasn't much to do but play guitar and stare at the red dirt. When things broke, the only person to fix them was fifty miles away, and eventually fixing gave way to building, giving me my career as a luthier. I wouldn't have it any other way.
