I love the enemies to lovers and forced proximity tropes so I had a blast following Violet and Matteo as they awkwardly navigated their way around each other, only to, of course since it’s a romance, eventually develop feelings other than hate for one another. I loved both characters and thought they had amazing chemistry.

When Violet lands a fashion internship in Rome, she must step up to complete against her two (younger) classmates to win the ultimate prize of a job at a New York label. There’s only one problem: her professor’s son, Matt, is her ultimate enemy from the start! Can Violet push forward towards her fashion goals, or will she remain distracted by Matt? Ciao for Now is the perfect enemies to lovers romance book! The side characters brought a lot to the story as well - Holly (fellow intern), Mira (co-worker), Louisa (fabric shop owner), and her professor - all helped Violet figure out herself and her path. Matt pauses, catching his breath and squaring his shoulders. “Probably. But it’s a bad decision I want to make again.” If you say it to your favourite actor when you meet him at a book signing, then that would even be creepy. I really liked Violet and Matt’s chemistry and flow of the story was great, however, the ending left me wanting more

Ciao - Wikipedia

Twenty-nine-year-old Violet has sacrificed everything for her dream of working in fashion. So when she lands a summer internship at an up-and-coming fashion brand in Rome - with a chance to win a job at a NY fashion label - she heads to Italy, ready to give it her all! The greeting has several variations and minor uses. In Italian and Portuguese, for example, a doubled ciao ciao/ tchau tchau means specifically "goodbye", whilst the tripled or quadrupled word (but said with short breaks between each one) means "Bye, I'm in a hurry!"

In Rome Violet meets Matt, a showrunner for a popular streaming space-romance. He is immediately smitten but does not show it. She is immediately annoyed. After a first rancorous meeting they find out Violet is spending the month at Matt's mother's villa, as is Matt. Matt is terrified by relationships but wants to try with Violet. Violet is afraid she will ruin her professional life by following a guy like she did before, but is drawn to Matt. And Matt is adorable. Anxious and self-protective by nature Matt tears down his walls for Violet, but her fears get in the way. And the setting - ROMA! Could there be a better, more romantic or beautiful place for a fashion student and writer to fall in love?? Pronounced with a long [aː], it means "Hello, I'm so glad to meet you!" (be it sincere or sarcastic) in Italian, and a sarcastic or humorous use of "bye!" (cf. American English) in Portuguese. It can be used in Italian to express sarcasm at another person's point of view about one topic, especially when that opinion sounds outdated, in which case the meaning is comparable to the English "Yeah, right!"

ciao for now - English definition, grammar, pronunciation

Another standing ovation is coming from me! This book made me giddy, carefree, and highly entertained! The fiery attraction between the sunshiny, optimistic, caring, artsy, creative, and quirky Violetta and the grouchy, surly, charismatic, and playful Matt absolutely excited me! This started great! very funny. I liked how the story evolved. The chemistry between Violet and Matteo is amazing. Fashion, spectacular sightseeing in Italy, marvelous food, chilled Prosecco, explosive chemistry between characters - such a powerful romance blended with enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity, sunshine-meets-grump tropes, reminding us of the Italian version of "Emily in Paris" as "Violet in Rome": this is the recipe for the best romcom! Overall, I cannot resist the charm of one of the most spectacular cities in the world. This extremely swoon-worthy, engaging, inspirational romcom is absolutely one of my favorite works by Kate Bromley!

goodbye for now

Romanian: ciao ("hello" or "goodbye"); it is often written as ceau although this form is not officially in the Romanian vocabulary The dialogue is witty and engaging - it’s the kind of conversation that makes you forget you’re reading a book and not standing right there listening to the conversation! What Violet doesn't expect is Matteo: her professor’s son. Matteo's immediate contempt and animosity toward Violet is just as palpable as the chemistry between them. Forced to spend the summer together, they find their feelings are shifting from "I can't stand you" to "I can't stand to be away from you."
