About this deal

Emulsion stabilizers hold ingredients together, helping to create an even texture throughout the product. An easy-to-formulate, commonly used, nice to have ingredient that’s also called pro-vitamin B5. As you might guess from the “pro” part, it’s a precursor to vitamin B5 (whose fancy name is pantothenic acid). So overall, it’s nice that this product focuses on skin hydration (also into deeper layers of the skin), Skin-barrier fortification as well as soothing the skin. Sorbitan Olivate is an oil in water emulsifier. It helps stabilize a product by preventing oils and waters from separating. Sorbitan Olivate also helps hydrate the skin.

Good old water, aka H2O. The most common skincare ingredient of all. You can usually find it right in the very first spot of the ingredient list, meaning it’s the biggest thing out of all the stuff that makes up the product. Manufacturers use the name Olivem 1000. This ingredient has been found to preserve the natural microbiome of skin. Having a healthy microbiome helps keep our skin healthy and protects against harmful bacteria. This ingredient is grouped with Sorbitan Olivate under the name Olivem 1000. As a humectant, glucose draws moisture from the air and from deeper levels in the skin. This helps hydrate skin. Aquaxyl: moisturizes dry skin from the inside out layer by layer. High contents of natural moisturizing factor (NMF) further enhances moisture retention and prevents dryness or dehydration.Panthenol (also referred to as pro-vitamin B5) is a common ingredient that helps hydrate and soothe the skin. A study from 2016 found glycerin to be more effective as a humectant than AHAs and hyaluronic acid. Nelumbo Nucifera Germ Extract, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Niacinamide, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Xylitylglucoside, Xylitol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Water, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Panthenol, Cetearyl Olivate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Sorbitan Olivate, Hydroxyacetophenone, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Allantoin, Trideceth-10, Anhydroxylitol, Glucose

And this is what lotus water extract brings. It helps absorb toxins out of your skin to reveal clear and clean complexion. If that wasn’t enough panthenol is also useful in nail and hair care products. A study shows that a nail treatment liquide with 2% panthenol could effectively get into the nail and significantly increase the hydration of it. The hydrophilic trait of Pentylene Glycol makes it a humectant. As a humectant, Pentylene Glycol helps draw moisture from the air to your skin. This can help keep your skin hydrated. Super common soothing ingredient. It can be found naturally in the roots & leaves of the comfrey plant, but more often than not what's in the cosmeticproductsis produced synthetically.

As a humectant, it helps the skin stay hydrated by pulling moisture to your skin. The low molecular weight of glycerin allows it to pull moisture into the deeper layers of your skin. Lotus water extract: absorbs damaging toxins out of your skin for a clearer and cleaner complexion.

If you’ve been following The Skin Experiment for a while (thanks!), you’d know that not only am I big fan of k-beauty and Asian skincare products; I’ve also become such a big fan of Rovectin. Hydrogenated Polyisobutene is a synthetic polymer. Polymers are compounds with high molecular weight. Hydrogenated Polyisobutene is an emollient and texture enhancer. Once oxidized, panthenol converts to pantothenic acid. Panthothenic acid is found in all living cells. Normal (well kind of - it's purified and deionized) water. Usually the main solvent in cosmetic products.Research also shows that it might be useful for wound healing as it promotes fibroblast (nice type of cells in our skin that produce skin-firming collagen) proliferation. The emollient plant oil that comes from almonds. Similar to other plant oils, it is loaded with skin-nourishing fatty acids (oleic acid - 55-86% and linoleic acid 7-35%) and contains several other skin goodies such as antioxidant vitamin E and vitamin B versions. It's a nice, basic oil that is often used due [more] what‑it‑does Its main job in skincare products is to moisturise the skin. It’s a humectant meaning that it can help the skin to attract water and then hold onto it. There is also research showing that panthenol can help our skin to produce more lovely lipids that are important for a strong and healthy skin barrier.

I can see myself using this year round so it’s definitely giving my go-to moisturizer ( Hada Labo moisturizer) serious competition. Ceramides are intercellular lipids naturally found in our skin that bonds dead skin cells together to create a barrier. Having a strong skin barrier leads to more firm and hydrated skin. The hydrating effect of Aquaxyl was also examined in a comparative study in theJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology. Four humectants were examined in combination with 5% glycerin in a hydrogel formula and one with 4% Aquaxyl performed as well as the well-known moisturizer, ureaand somewhat better than the formula containing NMF components or hydrating plant extract called Imperata Cylindrica. Much of the research is based on caprylic acid derived from coconut oil. Coconut oil is an emollient and helps moisturize the skin. Hydrogenated Polydecene is an emollient. It creates a non-occlusive film on the skin that offers extra protection for your skin barrier. The main part of a moisturizing complex calledAquaxyl. Comes from two water-binding plant sugars, glucose and xylitol. According to the manufacturer,Aquaxyl is close to a magic moisturizer that not only simply moisturizes, but can " harmonize the skin's hydrous flow".
