James Patterson is one of the world’s top thriller authors and in this series, has turned his hand to books for teens. James Patterson’s YA fantasy novels have all the action and tension of his adult books but with plenty of humour and a coming of age story. Other James Patterson kids books include the highly popular Max Einstein and Middle School series. Patterson is a firm advocate for literacy and an extremely prolific writer, having sold over 325 million copies of his books worldwide. In the first book, Ari's personality was adult and sadistic. However, in the second and third book, his thoughts and feelings were more like those of a seven-year-old. In the second book, he stole a Game Boy and was disgusted by a woman holding a bra in public. The Maximum Ride movie was also made in 2016 but there are currently no plans for a sequel with critics and fans alike rating the books more highly. Max notes that Fang rarely smiles, cries or shows emotions and often keeps a straight face. However, after his daughter's birth in Maximum Ride Forever, Max says that Fang has become more open and emotional. Maximum Ride is a young adult fantasy adventure series written by bestselling author James Patterson.

Everyone loves stories. Every story is different because the characters in the story are different. Maximum Ride is a little girl, about 14 years of age. In this story, Maximum Ride: The Final Warning, the author James Patterson shows how courageous little children can be. This story is about a place called The School and of her friends. They are the Gasman (Gazzy who is 8 years old), Iggy (13 years old) and Fang who is 14 years of age. This story is a little different because here are children who can fly! In the book, Jeb is accompanied by an unnamed male scientist when Max and Max II begin fighting; in the manga, he is accompanied by the Director. Volume 7 was released in October 2013 and features Max once again on the cover. It finishes the third book and begins The Final Warning.

In HAWK, Fang is said to look older and has a beard growing, as well as longer hair. According to Max, he is "hot, hot, hot." During a fight with a squid, Fang and Max both discover that they have developed gills. By the end of the book, Fang and Max frequently kiss and show affection. Angel seems to approve, giving Max a thumbs-up. Ari wanted Max to be his friend, although he expressed it violently by trying to wound Fang to the point of hospitalization because he didn't approve of Max and Fang's romance. He later considered taking Max as his friend and living with her in hiding. He exhibited some tendencies to self-harm, biting himself in School's Out - Forever because the pain "felt better."The discussion opens here about the possibility of humans having superpowers. This may be a possibility that could become a reality in the future. Flying is difficult and the story gives the children the power to fly. It opens up the realms of unknown space that we see when we fly. A short film now exists on Max Ride and there is a game also to play named Max Ride.
