About this deal

As the monitor has both HDMI 2.0 and Display ports, you can easily hook up a desktop computer, laptop or games console. Samsung presents gaming at its finest with the Odyssey G8 Gaming Monitor! We’ll walk you through how to start using your monitor. FAQ for Samsung TV. Find more about how to troubleshoot your Smart Monitor M80B when connecting a device to the USB-C port with Samsung Support. The system menu has the rest of the monitor’s convenience options and the local dimming option. Auto works well for both SDR and HDR content and leaves brightness available so you can set the peak output anywhere you wish. Dynamic Contrast is also effective with two levels of aggressiveness. Standard leaves the brightness adjuster available, while Ultimate grays it out and displays a very bright and contrasty image. We've also been playing a lot of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands on this monitor, and the sheer amount of screen real estate you have with a 32:9 monitor is so cool. In the past, we've been yelled at by raid leaders for having too many add-ons on our screen at any given time (we play a healer, sue us), as having a lot of stuff on a 16:9 screen can obscure your field of vision.

I was hoping this would be about the supposed 2021 mini-led refresh for the G9, since the original model covered here is a year old by now. It could fix my main gripe with the G9 which is the awfully subpar 10-zone local dimming. is really curved. But the G9 is so wide that image distortion isn’t a problem. When working, documents are at or near the screen’s center. We couldn’t perceive any distractions there.Monitors are also out of eye vision field. you wont see the edges of the game and the center at the same time

g-unit1111 said:I've seen this thing in person and it's a behemoth. I would love to get one, but a bit out of my price range. I think it would be awesome for Flight Simulator! I just love mine. It is really a great experience, it sets PC gaming apart. Regardless of the screen size and format, fast, great color, acceptable contrast. Mini LED local dimming would be great IF they are fast enough for gaming.Samsung’s 49” Odyssey G9 gaming monitor is designed for exceptionally immersive gaming, and high productivity in any field. With captivating contours, Samsung’s first 1000R ultrawide curved monitor wraps around you for the most immersive and realistic viewing experience. This 32:9 ultrawide view lets you open multiple windows at once and game, watch and chat, all at the same time. To put that in perspective, even with an Intel Core i9-10900K and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090, we get around 190 to 200fps in World of Warcraft with ray tracing off and the graphics settings up to the "10" preset. So, even with the most powerful hardware in the world, this monitor is still incredibly difficult to drive. But, with something that costs as much as this monitor does, it's good that you'll still be pushing it in a few years once the next generation of hardware finally comes out. FAQ for Samsung TV. Find more about how to troubleshoot when your Smart Monitor M80B remote is not working with Samsung Support. Just found a new listing for the Odyssey G9 in Germany. It might be a new Hardware variant since the product codes now end with „SSR“. So far it has always been „SSU“. The only difference I was able to see in the data sheet is, that the SSR has a power consumption of 55 W. For SSU the spec sheet lists 108 W. Does anyone maybe have more info on that? Link below is for Ireland, so that it is in English and not in German.
