About this deal

That being said, it's not that the book was necessarily bad. It wasn't bad at all. Meyer's writing is wonderful as always and it was great to listen to. The issue was that I honestly didn't care about the characters at all. Interesting, likable characters are Meyer's greatest strength, in my opinion. The cast of the Lunar Chronicles remains one of my favorites to this day. So, I don't know what happened in this book that made the main character, Pru, so hard to root for and made me not want to keep reading her story. Realize that your world is only a reflection of yourself and stop finding fault with the reflection. Attend to yourself, set yourself right; mentally and emotionally. The physical self will follow automatically. Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

The whole 'instant karmic justice' plotline was actually interesting, and something I hadn't read about in a book before (or at least, I don't think I have). And sure, I get that the only reason Pru had those powers was to teach her not to be so judgemental all the time, and without it, this book wouldn't really have a plotline, but seriously, Universe?? Pru?? This law says that all actions spring from desire. The stronger the desire, the stronger the action precipitated by it. If an action is repeated many times with a strong sense of desire attached to it, it manifests as a habit. Habits, as they gain velocity, can dull your thinking and influence your decisions. This is known as being on " the wheel of karma." I love Marissa Meyer, but I was just here for the sweet rescue animals and Quint and his mom working to help them. Pru got on my nerves the majority of the book but she straightened up toward the end. Although, she should have zapped all the bad people while she could, unless she just dreamed she had abilities. Anyhoo, cute I'm a simple girl. I see Marissa Meyer and I hit the "to-read" button before I even read the synopsis. It's just the way it is.Case in point: his main character is truly intolerable, and the guy she is dating does not seem to like her at all, but who cares? Whatever! They're teens and they're living life and that's what summer is all about, when it comes to me reading.

Focusing on past mistakes means you're constantly beating yourself up for things that aren't even happening now. Worrying about the future can bring up feelings of anxiety and greed. Living in the present moment stops all that. After all, the present is all you ever really have. 10. The Law Of Change In the above example, the law of growth asks you to consider that reacting angrily will not change the situation that prompted the response. In fact, it will likely make it worse. The law of responsibility says that all events that result from the negative reaction are your sole responsibility. 6. The Law Of Connection I am so pleasantly surprised by this book, which is thoroughly a 3 star read that I will probably never think about ever again in my life.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.** The law of change says that if we hope to get off the wheel of karma, we must take steps to change our deeply ingrained patterns. the 12 laws of karma Karma, from the Sanskrit karman, is a term widely used in various dharmic religions to refer to the spirit of balance and justice.

Add in a crew of awesome friends and side characters, karaoke Tuesdays, karmic magic, saving cute sea life, Beatle’s references, and a bit of a real life villain sub-plot and I thought this story was entertaining. I think that anyone can enjoy this read, but I definitely think it will work for older middle grade and younger YA readers. because theres not the flashiness of her usual sci-fi/fantasy in this, it feels like MMs writing is stripped down, which helped me realise her writing skills are actually quite good. its simple, but really effective. the character development is great, the pacing is spot on, the banter is adorable. this is everything you could hope for from a YA contemporary. The next problem was that it felt way longer than what was warranted. The last 25% was actually really good and I wish that the editor had trimmed the early sections so we could arrive at this point a bit sooner. I liked the relationships in the book, but it was a very full cast and perhaps this is where some of the trimming could have occurred. The law of humility states that we must accept what "is." It's futile to fight against the things you have no control over. They simply are what they are, and they must be accepted with grace and humility. Let go of the expectations of how you think things should be.The law of connection invites you to slow down and live in the present. What you do in this very moment will impact the future. It's a reminder to stay mindful that even the smallest action will reverberate far into the future. Everything is connected. the law of focus If you found this list useful, do not forget to share it on your social networks. Remember that “Sharing is Caring”. I think my biggest issue with this book is that it’s a romance, but the characters have no chemistry and are just flat. I felt like the main male character was just too perfect, he was given no flaws, and the “flaws” that we were supposed to believe were true were so obviously false (you’ll see what I mean if or when you read the book). To conquer frustration, one must remain intensely focused on the outcome, not the obstacles. T.F. Hodge 7. The Law Of Focus
