Finally, now it is possible to prepare the couples for the Yule Ball: Harry with Parvati and Ron with Padma. Here’s the Game Spinner in action. It’s a little unclear how you determine which number you get, as you will get 2 numbers facing upright… so just establish a rule and make it so! It is not very used in the world of Harry, however it is a nice part for the Yule Ball. The most remarkable part is the 1×4 printed tile with the piano keyboard. That said, in the context of the Yule Ball theme, it’s great to receive another main character, and if you look at the Harry Potter Advent Calendar as a fully-contained set – an extra minifigure is always welcome to bump up the playability!

We’ve really enjoyed your commentary, especially on days when we’ve been flummoxed by what we’ve gotten — having read Book IV but not having seen the movies. Putting the Gryffindor common room together was certainly our highlight, too! The construction was pretty fun, I do like the use of overlapping plates and trans-blue pyramids, and clear cheese slopes to give it that sparkly ice-sculpture look. It’s exceedingly festive and grand this year, with the Great Hall decorated in icicles, and a massive trio of Christmas trees. Only the Mic Stand has been a little forgettable, and I think the combination builds (Wall + Fireplace, and Banquet Tables) which work to create larger more substantial models. Oh, this was a pleasant surprise that was not spoiled on the box – Day 22 gives us another minifigure, Harry’s arch-nemesis Draco Malfoy from House Slytherin!I live in CA, USA. I am doing this advent calendar. I prefer the Harry Potter books over the movies. I appreciate this blog because it helps me understand how to build Legos or tells me who and what they are. My favorite one so far is the mini Hogwarts or mini mini mini Hogwarts, because the scale turn to the regular Hogwarts is tiny…Also, it’s really cute and clever! I Can’t-Wait to see each day’s lego. And I would like to see it look more like the Yule ball. I read all the harry potter books. And they are so phenomenal! I was so excited when I open my first flap and Made Harry and his Candelabra. It’s awesome to get all 3 main characters, and the main trio is finally complete! Harry does look quite out of place without his Hogwarts robes next to Ron and Hermione – he definitely needs a change of clothes as he’s about to board (or has already boarded) the Hogwarts Express! Yup, that’s it. Wizards don’t use electricity, so the microphone is pretty much a cone to amplify sound, and at the very least the sheet is printed. While I like that all the major house colours are featured, to give it a bit of a Hogwarts feel, it just feels like quite an underwhelming build to finish the Advent Calendar on – very underwhelming, and doesn’t really give you a sense of excitement or completion that you get from other Advent Calendars, where the final window is usually the crescendo and culmination of the countdown till Christmas. LEGO Harry Potter fans will be delighted with Padma’s inclusion – it’s been way overdue, and this Yule Ball-themed calendar is a very fitting set for her to show up in. This is the second first true-exclusive minifigure of this calendar, so I’m particularly pleased with Day 15!

What do we get after yesterday’s Leaky Cauldron sign? Day 8’s Table… with 2 coffee mugs, and a bottle. That’s it. The sheet music tile is relatively rare (and new!), having only been available in 2 sets so far this year, with the most notable being Rapunzel’s Tower. Once students reach their third year at Hogwarts, they are allowed to spend some time in the nearby village of Hogsmeade at the weekend. With this charming LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar, fans of the Wizarding World can take their own little journey through Hogsmeade's quaint streets. It features 24 miniature figurines to r ecreate a festive village scene. A Neat Christmas Gift It’s a pretty plain build for the calendar, with the spellbook just having a plain tile on the inside, but I do like the wand, which comes in its own wand case – a new element first introduced in 75978 Diagon Alley. I know I say it a lot, and it’s only Day 7 but this calendar already seems like a massive step up from last year, and I can’t wait to see what Day 8 brings us!
