Home › downthetubes News › Other Worlds › Digital Media › Blu-ray Babylon 5: The Complete Series release date announced A future-history story covering the years 2257 – 2262, with each year corresponding to one season, Babylon 5 was the first series to introduce viewers to the concept of a five-year arc, with a defined beginning, middle, and end, paving the way for a number of such later series. Meanwhile, while we’re talking Warner, the Warner Archive have set Helter Skelter: An American Myth for DVD release on 2/9, along with Six by Sondheim (2013) on Blu-ray on 2/9, and Harley Quinn: The Complete First and Second Seasons on Blu-ray on 2/16.

The company also has the 2020 Sundance Film Festival official selection Wander Darkly coming to Blu-ray and DVD on 2/9. I hope they do offer BluRay copies. It would be nice to see them maybe film a tribute or two for those who have passed "beyond the rim" - Andreas Katsulas, Richard Biggs, Jerry Doyle, Jeff Conaway, Michael O'Hare, Stephen Furst, and now Mira Furlan. Ring & Reserve Can't wait to get your hands on this? Ring to reserve at your local store, subject to availability: According to Engadget, Warner Bros. didn't pull the same mistake seen in the original Babylon 5 DVDs (or what Disney Plus did with The Simpsons). Babylon 5 Remastered is only available in the original 4:3, not a re-cropped widescreen format. Ahead of the movie’s release tomorrow, although we understand some copies are already in the wild, here’s a roundup of two more promo clips for Babylon 5: The Road Home.

Afternoon, everyone and happy Cyber Monday. We hope you’ve all had a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday, for those of you here in the States. And for everyone else, we hope you had a great weekend. Selected items are only available for delivery via the Royal Mail 48® service and other items are available for delivery using this service for a charge. Babylon 5: The Road Home is available to buy now on streaming, as well as Blu Ray and 4K. Updated 06/08/23: Two further clips from the movie emerge… Like you, I own the DVD Box set. I would love to own the High Definition versions on BluRay. I won't be buying or renting via streaming as my domestic internet just isn't reliable enough for that. If it were just me, I'd be tempted to move... but apparently if I suggest that again my wife will divorce me - and that would be bad. Universal has also set the new release film Wild Mountain Thyme, starring Emily Blunt, Jamie Dornan, Jon Hamm, and Christopher Walken, for release on DVD and Digital only on 2/2. That’s right, no Blu-ray is currently planned. Very strange.

And the other big catalog news today is that Universal has finally officially announced the long-expected 4K release of Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing on 2/2. Extras will include a new introduction by the director and over four hours of legacy features, among them a documentary, deleted and extended scenes, trailers, and audio commentary by Lee. This will be a BD100 disc, with audio will be DTS:X. There’s no mention of Dolby Vision, so expect HDR10 only. All five seasons of Babylon 5 were scanned and remastered from the original camera negative in 4K, with a colour correction and the cleaning of dirt and scratches as well. The many CGI shots of the series have been digitally upscaled to HD, and short of a complete remaster, that’s probably the best we can hope for. After years of cropped, blurry episodes, it will be a thrill to bring this series home in HD. The release will present all 110 original episodes of the American science fiction television series, created by writer and producer J. Michael Straczynski that ran for five seasons from 1994–1998, fully remastered in HD.Here's everything you need to know about how to watch Babylon 5 Remastered online. How can I watch Babylon 5 Remastered from anywhere on Earth? sproggit said:Not just one of the best Sci-Fi series of all time, but I think it was also instrumental in recognizing that it is possible to reward an audience for wanting to really invest in a show by giving it a story arc that remains consistent across 5 seasons and 110 episodes. There were news last year (and a set date) that the whole remastered series would be released on home media, mainly Blu-ray in Dec. 2021. As you can see this did on happen. So my question:

CE. Five hostile federations dominate the outermost regions of space. Heroes, thieves, and rare and exotic beings find refuge in this time of uneasy peace and the constant threat of war on a lone space station — the last and best hope for peace between a hundred worlds, alien and human alike …Dennis has turned in his thoughts on Robert Siodmak’s 1944 film noir The Suspect, now available on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.
