About this deal

While this variant is uncommon in the Astra Militarum, Planetary Defence Forces on Frontier Worlds may use these variants as they are less advanced and thus easier to manufacture for a limited colonial economy. Of all the numerous creatures in the Warhammer world, Chimeras are easily the most warped, even amongst their Chaos-tainted brethren. No-one knows about their ancestral origins, for they are so terribly warped that no two ever look the same. The differences are not purely visual, for some Chimeras might spew flame or bite limbs off with the tail-mouth, while others have developed poison glands or metallic skin to protect them in battle and others still can breathe fire. [4a] x1 Astra Militarum Vehicle Transfer Sheet: Included in the kit is an Astra Militarum Vehicle Transfer Sheet. This sheet features various tactical markings, numerals, and regimental heraldry, providing you with options to personalize your Chimera with the symbols and markings of your chosen regiment. Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Hector Rex - The Chimera was used as a transport for Inquisitorial Storm Troopers by Hector Rex during the Siege of Vraks

The Termite is used by the Adeptus Mechanicus as a subterranean transport vehicle. The Termite is the smallest of the tunnellers. It carries two squads of Imperial Guard troops and the various Termites are organised into squadrons for tactical purposes. Termite squadrons all use the same tunnel, each following behind the other and branching to the surface only at the last moment. The Termite and its counterparts, the Mole and the Hellbore, all use a phase-field generator to burrow through the ground, whereas the Hades Breaching Drill uses a more "brute-force" approach that applies physical drills. The Chimera can fulfill additional roles and many basic variants of the standard vehicle exist. With their communication equipment and scanners Chimeras are suitable command vehicles, while those with Dozer Blades can clear terrain for heavier vehicles to move through or provide nighttime illumination from their Searchlights. [2a] While generally armed with a Multi-laser and Heavy Bolter, those fitted with a Heavy Flamer are popular when fighting in dense terrain such as jungles and forests; usually one in three Chimeras will be outfitted as a flame tank if other infantry close support vehicles, such as Demolishers, Thunderers and Hellhounds, are unavailable. Those equipped with Autocannons also fulfill the light anti-vehicle role, while Gryphonne IV makes a unique Chimera variant mounting twin-linked Heavy Bolters, particularly effective against dense infantry formations such as Ork mobs and Tyranid swarms. [3b] Chimeras have also been used by the Inquisition to transport Inquisitors and their stormtroopers, [4] Purity Seals affixed to the hulls to protect the vehicles' machine spirit and its passengers from daemonic possession. [1] Technical Information When a new codex for a faction is released, its rules become the standard, overriding any previous versions of the rules. Oblast Beast - The Chimera known as the Oblast Beast periodically devastates Kislev and has the body of a great bear with the heads of a falcon, a boar and an Ice Dragon. [6a]An index is more of a stop-gap solution introduced during the early stages of a new edition of Warhammer 40,000, especially when many codices have not yet been updated for that edition. The Colossus is an open-topped self-propelled artillery piece commonly used by the regiments of the Imperial Guard, and it is one of the oldest and most renowned siege weapons still in use during the 41st Millennium. The vehicle is usually deployed by the Guard during sieges of fortified enemy emplacements and against structures being used as cover by the enemy during urban combat. The Banesword is a variant of the Imperial Shadowsword Titan-hunter tank, modified to use a Quake Cannon in place of the Volcano Cannon. The Quake Cannon, combined with the armour of a super-heavy, has established the Banesword as the pinnacle of Imperial siegecraft. Many Imperial commanders would willingly exchange two regiments for a single Banesword, such is the reputation of this tank. The Banesword is also armed with three twin-linked Heavy Bolters, and two Lascannons. Originally conceived as a field modification, the Thunderer Siege Tank is becoming more and more common. Many Thunderers started their existence as a Destroyer Tank Hunter, but due to the low number of available replacements for the Destroyer's main weapon, the Laser Destroyer, many field shops would simply replace the broken weapon with a Demolisher Cannon, and thus the Thunderer was born. Mars pattern - More popular amongst Guard commanders as their profile is largely unchanged from that of a standard Chimera, making it harder for the enemy to single them out. The promethium reservoir fills the Chimera's cargo space. [3]

Valkyrie Sky Talon - This variant of the Valkyrie is used to transport light vehicles that are to be used as heavy support for drop-infantry, such as the Elysian Drop Troops.

The Chimera is the standard armoured personnel carrier (APC) of the Astra Militarum and its chassis is the basis for a large number of other Imperial armoured vehicles such as the Basilisk artillery and Salamander scout vehicles. The basic Chimera is equipped with a Multi-Laser but can also be outfitted with a variety of other heavy weapons, such as Twin-linked Heavy Bolters, an Autocannon or a Heavy Flamer. Armageddon Steel Legion - Involved in the Defence of Hive Infernus during the Third War for Armageddon Marauder Colossus - This variant of the Marauder was designed as a heavy ordinance bomber capable of destroying heavily fortified structures and strong-points. The Chimera is the standard armoured personnel carrier (APC) of the Imperial Guard. It can carry a variety of heavy weapons in its gun turret, such as Heavy Bolters, Heavy Flamers and Multilasers. Other weapons, such as Autocannons can be mounted using special modifications. The Chimera also mounts a hull-mounted Heavy Bolter or Heavy Flamer. The vehicle also has six hull-mounted lasguns on its side sponsons that can be fired from the passenger compartment, allowing the units inside to engage the enemy without first disembarking from the vehicle. As an APC, the vehicle is capable of carrying up to twelve Guardsmen, although some troop types such as Space Marine Terminators and Ogryns take up double the space of a standard human soldier. The Chimera has amphibious capabilities, allowing it to take part in naval assaults. There are three specific close variants of the Chimera; the Chimedon, Chimerax and Chimerro. The Chimedon replaces the gun turret weapon with a Battlecannon, while the Chimerax has four linked Autocannons in the turret. The Chimerro is a standard pattern Chimera with a Hunter-Killer Missile Launcher mounted on the turret in addition to the Multilaser. The Chimera chassis is the basis for many other Imperial vehicles, including the Basilisk, the Hydra, and the Hellhound. Its design was intended to serve as a mobile anti-aircraft artillery piece in extreme situations where no other anti-aircraft capability was present that could also carry a squad of Imperial Guardsmen and provide close fire support for them. Inquisition - The Inquisition uses Chimeras to transport both Inquisitors and infantry such as Inquisitorial Storm Troopers during their operations.

A Chimerax; this particular vehicle is also equipped with a pintle-mounted Storm Bolter and a Hunter-Killer Missile Launcher. Let’s explore some of the most iconic factions in Warhammer 40,000. For the 10th Edition, these have been completely reworked, replacing the previous 9th Edition Codexes. Additionally, Games Workshop made all of them available for free following the launch of the Leviathan box! Against this literally devilish heat enemy troops stand no chance, even the most heavily armoured being incinerated in instant. However it is against enemy tanks and fortifications that the Devil Dog’s weaponry is most often used. Its technology believed to have been based on that used in distant past of Mankind to render down the toughest of ores and metals for use in constructing its colonies across the galaxy, is capable of making the most tanks or structures to little more than molten slag and steaming gas. This also often provoke critical failures in surrounding systems, causing the tank to explode or collapsing the building down upon those unfortunate inside. [4] The Chimera is the Astra Militarum's most commonly used armoured personnel carrier (APC). These nearly ubiquitous vehicles are extremely durable and practical, capable of mounting a wide array of support weapons. From within the armoured confines of the Chimera, an Imperial Guard infantry squad can use the vehicle's hull-mounted weapons to unleash a lethal wave of firepower into an enemy, protected from all but the most heavy weapons in return.

A particularly powerful Chaos Lord, or an insanely brave Chaos Sorcerer, may sometimes try to bind a Chimera to their service, for the sheer carnage they can wreak upon the battlefield is a spectacle bound to attract the attention of the Ruinous Powers. It is said that only those sorcerers truly favoured by Chaos will have any hope of binding such a creature to their will, and a champion may spend a lifetime searching for a Chimera, and never succeed, or else find their prize and be torn apart by it moments later. However, those few who succeed in their quest have at their disposal a monstrous creature of unbridled destructive potential. [1a] Notable Chimerae
