About this deal

And last here is a homemade doily heart garland we made that is so easy and cheap to create. You can make it with any color doilies or even alternate doilies to give it more color. First Day of Home is next on the hop, and Crissy is not only one of my fave bloggers, but she is also one of my dearest friends and a wonderful partner-in-crime! There aren’t too many days that go by that we don’t chat about one thing or another! Be sure to go visit her… You’ll be blessed by her ‘pop-stitch’ heart garland!

Crochet Stitch Dictionary: 200 Essential Stitches with Step-by-Step Photos is the most helpful resource to keep handy! This year I was introduced to the world of air dry clay and needless to say I am hooked. Look how charming this Valentine's garland turned out. It has farmhouse, cottage, vintage, modern and minimalist written all over it. What do you think of making a bunch of velvet-covered hearts, maybe in the two colors pictured in the supply photo, and placing them in a big white ironstone bowl? Hmmmm… I think I may need to make another Hobby Lobby run!

Now comes the fun part! Grab all those strips of fabric and ribbon you cut in the beginning. Gather up 6-8 pieces and tie in between each heart.Chain 3, in first trc make sc and hdc, in next stitch 3 hdc, in next stitch 2 hdc, sc in next four stitches, chain 1 dc in trc, chain 1, sc in next four stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch, 3 hdc in next stitch, hdc and sc in next stitch, chain 3 and slip stitch in center I made the decision to glue them right onto my hand made hearts. Next, I glued the plain grapevine hearts, directly to the twine, in an every other fashion. I love these yarn-covered hearts, so much that last year I made pale pink nes to hang in my living room! Be sure to leave about 1 foot of string on each end so that you have plenty of space to tie the garland to whatever you’re tying it to. You place the point of the scissors in the groove of the curved plastic and start snipping the yarn all across to the other side.
