Retest your oven to ensure it reaches the right temperature after calibration. Repeat as necessary.
Those that spend a lot of time in the kitchen will know all too well that cooking appliances are far from perfect. Without a cooling fan fitted ovens, especially single built in models, can get very hot indeed in fact too hot for some people to touch them, yet they are fully legal and meet the BSI safety standards. If someone in your household has heavy hands they may accidentally pull the control knob off, causing the shaft on the thermostat to break off. Using a more modern infra-red thermometer is far, far better as it allows you to take accurate readings from each test area over the course of the testing without any hassle. It's just a lot easier and these days a meter is available at sensible prices that is perfectly suitable to test an oven, you don't need some highly specified one costing many hundreds of pounds. After a handful of tweaks and retests, you should have a good idea what’s where and can mark accordingly using one of the methods above.Apply the WD40 to the peg and leave to soak in, ensuring the peg is well lubricated. For the purposes of this example we will assume a room temperature of 20˚C as the allowed temperature rise is based on the ambient temperature of the room so you will need to do a little arithmetic here to work it out later. The problem here is that in every single instance that in that expelled hot air from the oven will be microscopic particles of fat and grease for the cooking process. This will stain light coloured units especially and still more so if there isn't the clearance needed to let it harmlessly out into the atmosphere, it just hits the units and stains them.
