About this deal

The Fire Dragons Warrior Aspect can trace their origins to Fuegan, the Burning Lance, the Phoenix Lord of their Aspect. Following the Fall of the Aeldari, Asurmen, first of the Phoenix Lords, was the Aeldari who led the Craftworlds away from the ancient Aeldari homeworlds at the time of the Fall and it was he who founded the first of the Aspect Shrines upon the barren world of Asur, where the exiled Aeldari settled for a short time. Now that is not to say the trade game doesn’t have a place. Maybe it is best serving to explode that Land Raider to cripple the spearhead of your opponent’s army and shut down their mobility, but there are other options to this, and a good warhost will seek to take advantage of them also. With the benefit of centuries of experience, there is no foe this Exarch cannot identify the weakness of, coordinating the fire of their warriors into overwhelming surges of targeted heat. The Blazing Fang Shrine - The Blazing Fang pierce enemy armour with focussed blasts from their fusion guns. Should a vehicle survive the initial assault, the warriors deliver a payload of melta bombs into its glowing wound, finishing the job in a huge explosion that sends gobbets of molten metal in all directions.

Fuegan was thought lost when the Shrine of Asur was destroyed by Arhra, the Fallen Phoenix. Fuegan disappeared for many standard centuries, before reappearing during the final battle at Haranshemash, "The World of Blood and Tears" in the Aeldari Lexicon. The Phoenix Lord of the Fire Dragons is Fuegan, "The Burning Lance." Fuegan learned the arts of war in the Shrine of Asur, under the eyes of the first Phoenix Lord Asurmen in that distant time millennia ago when the Warrior Aspects were first born. Fuegan founded the first Aspect Shrine of the Fire Dragons, and schooled the first Aspect Warriors of the shrine in the art of war with flame and savagery. Daemon Princes, Ork Warlords and the champions of Mankind have all fallen to his pike and axe, each one strengthening Fuegan's chain. In many ways it is Fuegan who most embodies the Aspect Warriors' obsession with their deadly craft. He devotes himself completely to the systematic and total persecution of the Aeldari race's enemies, pitilessly culling them one by one until their deaths form an unbroken chain of retribution stretching across the universe. Next you’ll want to bring a taste of death to the field. Dark Reapers are ideal for this, given they’re able to shoot at a huge distance, and have some of the best ranged stats in the entire game. In addition, their Fire and Fade ability means they can pop in and out of cover with ease. This boosts their survivability, making them a true thorn in your opponent’s side. Finally, you’ll want your units to stay alive. We’d recommend a Wave Serpent for this. A dedicated transport ship that’s equipped with a shield, its durability will keep all cargo in its levitating troop belly happy. Fuegan, "the Burning Lance," is an Asuryani Phoenix Lord and the founder of the Fire Dragons Aspect Warriors.

All members of the unit come with a Fusion Gun (i.e. Meltagun- 12″ S8 AP-4 d6 damage) for a primary weapon, which is basically what the whole aspect lives on. They also carry Meltabombs, although there is essentially zero reason to ever use them- they have the same profile as the Fusion Gun but only a 4″ range, though they do reroll all failed wounds against vehicles (rather than just 1s), so in niche cases you might use them to try and kill a T8 target at point-blank range or something. The exarch of the unit can also swap his gun out for a Firepike (which has the same stats as the Fusion Gun, but an 18″ range) or a Dragon’s Breath Flamer (i.e. Heavy Flamer- S5 AP-1 d6 automatic hits)- forking out a few points for the Firepike isn’t a terrible option if you have some laying around and nothing better to buy, but neither are really particularly impressive options. Those Craftworld Aeldari who wanted to follow this new path learned at the feet of their master, and in turn they assumed the mantle of Exarchs before spreading throughout the galaxy. The first Exarchs, the Asurya, the children of Asurmen, were the greatest of his students and went on to become the Phoenix Lords of the other Aspect Shrines, the first masters of the other specialised Asuryani combat disciplines.Titan Forge : The ancient spectres range is obviously another take on Eldars. They've got Warp Spiders, Motojets and a heavy weapon. We’ve seen a ton of rules rumors for the Eldar, but we haven’t seen a ton for the Fire Dragons quite yet. So, it’s good to get an idea of what they can do. Obviously, since the book isn’t out yet, these are rumors, still, they look pretty legit. If true, I'm not sure they're going to make the cut. The increased strength on their weapons is nice. The higher toughness is nice. The invuln is nice. They're still going to get shot off the board as soon as they either unload from a transport or webway strike. Not sure they're going to be worth it for the points unless they have some solid stratagem support. This passage says that it will be Fuegan who calls all of the Aeldari Phoenix Lords for the Last Battle, the Rhana Dandra, and the Burning Lance will be the last of his brethren to die in that conflict, when the footsteps of Daemon kings and demigods shake the galaxy, resulting in the final death of the Aeldari race and their gods alike, as the price for the elimination of Chaos within the Immaterium. Asurmen found that he could not give up the Path of the Warrior to follow a different Asuryani Path, for he desired to use his skills to protect what remained of his species after the birth of the Chaos God Slaanesh, " She Who Thirsts." From the Shrine of Asur sprang the first Aspect Warriors, and the Path of the Warrior was opened for the very first time to all Aeldari.

Fire Axe - This ancient weapon glows red with the heat of its forging. Massive in size and yet still possessed of the alien elegance that defines the works of Vaul, the Fire Axe has never cooled since the day it was crafted, and the Aeldari Lexicon runes on its surface constantly writhe in blazing agony. This permanent acceptance of the Aeldari's "war mask" provides Exarchs with enhanced skill and dedication to their craft and entitles them to access their Aspect Shrine's oldest and most advanced wargear. Melta Bombs - Melta Bombs are portable incendiary devices utilising nuclear fusion-based Melta technology, and they are lethally effective against even heavily armoured units, as the intense directional blast of heat produced by the Melta reaction can burn its way through an armoured hull in a matter of seconds.

With safety and the vast resources of the Eldar Empire, the Aeldari became insular. They ceased looking outwards for new inspiration, preferring to explore their desires and hedonistic impulses. The Eldar Empire became darker; twisted needs and terrible acts becoming commonplace as they slaked their lusts on each other and the many lesser races that populated the galaxy. Wargame Exclusive : They've got some Warp Spiders, male and female version, an exarch, and a Dark Eldar character. The final way I want you to think about using Fire Dragons is to punish your opponent with them, breaking their will in the game. Overall, 40K is about not making mistakes, the opponent that makes the least often wins, and the general that can force and then exploit mistakes shows a true command. We all make mistakes on the tabletop, so having your Fire Dragons in a central spot on the table so they can zip out and exploit a mistake when it appears is key. It is not enough to “create” a mistake, you also have to set up the game through movement and looking ahead to capitalize on that mistake. But, is this “guaranteed” kill a good idea? Is trading 1 for 1 or 1 for 2 worth it in the overall scope of the game? Consider this: You zip your tank up and the Fire Dragons get out exploding said land land raider. What now? Your opponent can’t afford to loose another unit from those ‘dragons so they are going to get shot up and die, and in the process you may even loose the grav tank that ferried them since it is now next to your opponent’s core. What: Warpspiders (+Phoenixlord), Firedragons (male & female), Fuegan, Bonesingers, Striking Scorpions, Karandras, Banshees, Jain Zar, Farseer, Rangers, Illic Nightspear, Dark Reapers Aspect Helmet - Each warrior Aspect has its own distinctive helmet, and within each shrine of the Aspect the helmet may vary in form slightly, with correspondingly more elaborate versions for the shrine's Exarchs. A standard Fire Dragon Aspect Warrior's helmet is distinctively tall with a long top crest. By custom, it is this helmet that marks the Aspect Warriors as the protectors and avengers of their Craftworld. It bears the rune of the Fire Dragons traced upon its forehead.
