About this deal

This is potentially a pretty big card, grabbing a ton of lands. Elves ramp nicely into this, especially since the hierarchs exactly ability lasts until end of turn, and they have 0 power, you can pretty easily manipulate what powers you have between 0 power hierarchs and elves, and then “normal” mana dork elves that are 1/1.

Sono 3 segnalini, che faccio? Lascio?" "Sono 3 segnalini, che faccio? Lascio?" "Sono 3 segnalini, che faccio? Lascio?" Obviously, this is a very short list, but maybe the secret to making Nobles work is to use cards that change creatures’ creature types. Here is another short list of cards that can do that in green and white: card draw; Leinore, Autumn Sovereign, Wall of Mourning, Inspiring Call, Shamanic Revelation, Lifecrafter's Bestiary If you plan not to follow the humans tribal line and focus even more on counters, consider making the following changes as well:

"Mike please stop talking, you type too much" -Mike's editors

The Summoner, on the other hand, can easily be replaced by cards from the Selesnya Conclave, which offer tokens for less mana. However, it should not be forgotten that it helps us with the coven mechanics through the different strength values. Destroy the base and crush your enemies The last two additional cards are both mythic: Avacyn's Memorial and Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor. [6] Cardlists [ | ] Coven Counters [ | ] “ This combos decently with the commander, and lets you swing no matter what, but since it’s conditional on it being your turn it’s of limited use in my opinon. mana;37 lands and Avacyn's Pilgrim, Gyre Sage, Knight of the White Orchid, Heronblade Elite, Somberwald Sage, Herald of War, Growth Spasm, Celebrate the Harvest, Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Talisman of Unity, Myriad Landscape, Krosan Verge, Blighted Woodland Both can be combined with the also included Unbreakable Formation or Inspiring Call, which makes its own creatures indestructible and additionally puts +1/+1 tokens on them when played in its own main phase.

Smaller destruction instant spells are Return to Dust and Swords to Plowshares, the former targeting an artifact or enchantment (even two when it’s played in your own main phase), the latter targeting a creature. Bestial Menace and Beast Within generate and tokens, which we can link to the Beastmaster, or to the Coven mechanic. Enchantments You can also find some suggestions for best life gain MTG cards here. New Cards From Innistrad: Midnight Hunt The new version has a bunch of elves for ramp, especially elves like Gyre Sage who keep getting bigger and keep tapping for more mana as they get bigger, letting you lay down truly huge threatening hydra creatures. Cards like Shalai, Voice of Plenty and Leyline of Abundance can get truly out of hand this way. If you can pay 6 mana to give all your creatures +1/+1 but that makes several of your elves suddenly tap for 1 more mana, you can keep doing it every turn. Hydras that have 4 or 5 counters are them are far more rewarding to cast Biogenic Upgrade on. Your basic gameplan here is very basic: Ramp Elves into more elves, start dropping huge hydras, and start swinging. You’ve got some instants mostly to protect your creatures from board clear or targeted removal. So don’t tap out entirely. While the Cagebreakers are especially useful in the later game, Soulbinders should be played at a time when your own battlefield is already well filled with creatures or there are creatures in play that can buff him.

Conclusion

Coven is a new mechanic from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. It motivates you to have a lot of Creatures on the board, as well as variety among those Creatures. This means that you are going to want to figure out creative ways to put Creatures with different powers on the battlefield. In many ways, Coven Counters feels just like the other precons that came before it: it plays well, it feels synergistic, and there are no glaring problems. With that said, there is always room for improvement! Kyler, Sigardan Emissary is the second-in-command in Coven Counters, and makes for a great Human-themed commander. As their power grows, so do of all the humans around them. The +1/+1 counter subtheme fits well with Humans, too, as many of them work with +1/+1 counters already, like Thalia’s Lieutenant. If built correctly, Kyler can be one of the strongest and most aggressive Humans commanders available.

The early benefit of the +1/+1 tokens is underlined by Abzan Falconer and Ainok Bond-Kin, which offer us first strike and flying ability. Straight out of the gate, I’d replace Somberwald Beastmaster and Enduring Scalelord with Hamza, Guardian of Arashin and Felidar Retreat (or Cathar’s Crusade if you have it). Double up on cost reductions while giving yourself free value for just playing a land for a turn. Need a way to trigger Coven? Create a 2/2 Cat. Want to buff your squad? Give everything +1/+1 and Vigilance! We post new videos every week, covering all things Magic the Gathering, MTG Arena Gameplay, Standard, Commander, and MTG Finance! Choosing cards to take out of this version is a little more difficult. In some ways, it’s just a different take on the previous section on Humans. However, if we want to focus on Clerics specifically, we can be even more discriminatory about our cuts. Mikaeus, the Lunarch, Custodi Soulbinders, Sigardian Zealot, and Victory’s Envoy are the only Clerics in the precon. Keep these in for sure, and just about every other Creature can come out. This leaves room to add plenty more Clerics, as well as lifegain payoffs, if you so choose. 5. Nobles (1-5) Recommended Commander: Leinore, Autumn SovereignLeinore, Autumn Sovereign (+1/+1 Counters) Leinore, Autumn Sovereign (+1/+1 Counters) Leinore, Autumn Sovereign (+1/+1 Counters) This is a sort of durdle card, but in that sense pretty powerful, generating huge amounts of mana for power is quite useful, and this one allows you to generate mana of any color, most of the tap for x mana equal to power only generate green mana, but for infinite combos like Pemmin’s Aura or Freed from the Reel, blue mana is required. Also potentially quite strong with Kenrith, Returned King. Lost Caverns of Ixalan Spoilers — October 24 | Quintorius Planeswalker, New Cascade and Token Tripling!, Now that we’ve gotten some general information out of the way, let’s move on to the fun part. 1. Coven (5-7) Recommended Commander: Leinore, Autumn Sovereign Custodi Soulbinders and Verdurous Gearhulk represent raw stats, and will ensure that Coven Counters always controls the biggest creature.

It’s 7 mana, but you can cheat it out as an ETB and creates 4 tokens. Many things are linked specifically to creatures so anytime you are making a lot of creatures at once that is powerful, and there’s certainly power in having a lot of deathtouch. You’re trading 1 card to “draw 3,” which is only possible if you have 3 or more Creatures with different powers, and even then you put 1 card, mind you, one card in your hand.
