About this deal

A bigger difference and potentially useful feature for first time electric toothbrush users is the inclusion of a pressure sensor on the 2000. There is not much difference in the size and weight all told, only a few grams but sit them side by side and we think that most would prefer the in-hand feeling of the Smart 5. The Smart 6’s brush head holder is a moulded piece of plastic that clips around the charging stand and offers up 2 prongs. The brush heads then sit on these. It keeps them upright and they do not touch, but they are not covered like they are with the compartment with the 9000, which can accommodate up to 4 brush heads. Once the 2 minutes are up 3 brief pauses in the brush motor will be heard and felt. This is your cue that the clean is over. If you don’t hear or feel these pauses, keep brushing, you haven’t achieved 2 minutes. You are likely going to get the best value from the Pro 1 680/Pro 1 750 variants, because they include a travel case. But, prices do vary, so this logic may not always apply.

When pressed it starts and stops the one cleaning mode on this brush, which I will cover in more detail very shortly. I don’t have the figures of the number of oscillations and pulsations on the older Pro 5000 available to give confirmation of the power difference. And add to this, there have been various iterations of the 5000 over the years, so it would be important to find out the exact one to say 100%.Whilst each has its place within the market, it is the Pro Series that is the most logical option for the majority. For your own benefit, do try and perfect your technique so you remove as much plaque as possible. We show you how in our article, how to clean your teeth properly. brush head is included in the box. The exact style will depend on the variant you choose. One of the most popular options is the CrossAction head.

Oral B Pro 1 600 electric toothbrush has built-in pressure sensor only, but Pro 2 2000 and 3 3000 have both built-in and visible pressure sensors. The Oral-B Pro 2 2000 is a better choice than the Oral-B Pro 600, primarily because it offers more cleaning power, pressure sensor, and double the battery life, making it a worthwhile upgrade Where the Pro 650 may appeal to some a little more is the inclusion of a travel case or tube of toothpaste. The actual contents depends on the retailer. Most common now is the tube of paste. ThePro 600 offers 8,800 oscillations and 20,0000 pulsations whilst the 2000 offers 9,900oscillations and 45,000 pulsations.

Disclaimer

Of course, it is your money and ultimately your decision, but I want you to know that Oral-B brushes in the UK actually sell for around 50% less than retail most of the time. The best part is that Pro 650 is compatible with all Oral B brush heads; therefore, you can always buy a replacement head of your choice, ranging from sensitive, gum care, 3D white, CrossAction, floss Action and more. Like the the 2000 model, Oral B 3000 also comes in three forms (3 3000, 3 3500 and 3 3900) with few differences among them. The 3 3500 comes with a travel case while the 3 3000 sometimes include one sometimes not. The 3 3900 model on the other hand comes with two set of electric toothbrushes.

Together these alert you to relieve the pressure when brushing. Once relieved the light will go out, the brush motor speed up and the sound change again. It is perhaps no surprise that budget models like the Vitality series offer just 5 or so days on a single charge. A new magnetic charger means the brush can be recharged in as little as 3 hours, rather than the more typical 12. Power isn’t normally promoted or documented as it is a small part of the toothbrushing experience. More power doesn’t necessarily equal a better clean. Your total brushing time and technique have a big part to play. The rear of the handle has grips running down from the top towards the bottom. These raised plastic notches are functional but slightly rougher to the fingertips. A pro and a con, using rubber here would be nice as it would feel even better and look more premium. With 4 quadrants in the mouth, (bottom right and left, along with upper right and left) you should spend 30 seconds on each during the 2 minute cycle. So, both models come with a place to store brush heads, but the compartment with the 9000 is better than the stand offered with the Smart 6. And in case of battery life, the Pro 600 comes with a poor performing battery that when fully can hardly stay up to 7 days before recharging whilst, the pro 2 2000 comes with a li-ion battery that goes up to 2 weeks time when fully charged. Another slight difference is the 9000’s lovely travel case has a clip built into the lid that holds a smartphone, for using the app when travelling.

The Pro 3 3500 offers the features we regard as essential (a pressure sensor and a timer) at an affordable price. The lower third of the brush handle is where you will find the battery status and charging icon. The battery icon will run from green to orange to red as the battery depletes and when charging the battery and charger icon will slowly flash green. The Pro 3 3000 has a slightly revised design. It looks a little cleaner. Unlike the 2000, it does not have a rubber grip that runs the length of the brush handle. Instead, the only grip on the front is the panel that contains the power button.
