About this deal

When it comes to buying gadgets and technology products, particularly in the Washing Machines category it’s important to invest in good quality products. HISENSE QA Series WDQA9014EVJM 9 kg Washer Dryer is no exception. There are a number of reasons why quality is so important when it comes to these types of products. However, there’s a price to pay for using the tumble dryer function in terms of both time and energy. This full load took 10 minutes shy of four hours to dry and used a whopping 3.75kWh of electricity. Modern 7kg heat-pump dryers would use half to a third of that energy for the same load.

Rinse hold/crease guard: This feature means that if you aren't around at the end of the program, the laundry won't be left to crease for too long. The machine holds the laundry in the final rinse water and the spin must be manually selected to progress to the end of the program. This cookie is set by the Bazaarvoice. Some dryers can use more water in the drying cycle than they do for washing – up to 58 litres for some machines – because the dryer’s condenser mechanism uses water from the tap for cooling. So, be sure to do your research and look into the machine’s specifications if you’re worried about time and energy consumption.

The controller knob is easy to operate and comes with blue segment LEDs to show the programme chosen. The detailed display to the right side is a matching blue-lit panel that completely illuminates for a second or two when the machine first boots up. Add item or ‘AddWash': Brands call it different things and the specifics may vary per model, but this clever feature allows you to add forgotten items to your wash.In the UK, the average is 160 loads per year, which works out at 960kg of drying (assuming high use of 6kg per load), 720kg (medium use of 4.5kg loads) and 480kg (low use of 3kg loads). Key specs – Style: Freestanding; Capacity: Wash 10kg; dry 6kg; Dryer type: Condenser; Max spin speed: 1,400rpm; Rated efficiency: E Smart sensor technology automatically controls the drying process according to the selected programme, laundry time and desired level of dryness. Sensors will handily stop the drying process when clothes reach this level Bosch washing machines consistently top the charts, and often take the top spot on our Best articles. So it’s no surprise that we’ve included this popular – if a little pricey – washer dryer. No surprise then that combining wash and dry is both lengthy and heavy on resources. A 5kg dry load of cottons, washed on Cotton 40 and dried to Cupboard Dry took over five and quarter hours and used 5.25kWh. For no easily explainable reason, even the water use increased on this wash-to-dry option to over 115 litres. That makes no sense to us at all, but Hisense’s own specs also state that adding a dry option increases water consumption dramatically. Go figure. Hisense WDBL1014V – How much will it cost to run?
