About this deal

This has been my most anticipated book since I finished Debts and Diamonds and it did not disappoint! It was so absolutely alluring. For a dark book it was highly emotional. Way more than I was expecting. It was pure heartbreaking, gut wrenching emotion. It was raw and painful in parts yet beautiful and passionate in others. Definitely one that touched my heart and left a mark. Given how important this part of the story was, it had me expecting a lot more than what was delivered. Having ultimately left me a little unsatisfied. The detail into Cyn's healing talents is brilliant. I really enjoy her as a character she has a different vibe from Bea's previous FMC's. You never feel like you're reading the same character with her stories. A deep, dark, and wild emotional rollercoaster! I love Bea’s books—always. No matter what she writes, I’ll read it. The way she’s been able to create such an incredible world with so many overlapping stories just blows my mind. I LOVE seeing the crossovers, and while we don’t see the Breakers in this book, Beast, Grim, Christy, and the Masks are all present and accounted for. This is the sequel to Debts and Diamonds. It only makes sense if you’ve read that. And it makes the most sense if you’ve also read Academy of Stardom, and The Dancer and The Masks duet.

The article “Debts and Diamonds” by Bea Paige explores the surprising correlation between debts and diamonds. It delves into how individuals often resort to selling their diamond jewelry to pay off mounting debts, and how this trend has become increasingly common in recent years. I was very dubious about the book and still found it rather disappointing. Especially with how the Deana-dhe were presented in the Academy of Stardom series. The Deana-dhe have intrigued me since they were first mentioned in the world of Bea Paige. I continue to be in awe of this rich world she has created. Each story exists within this shared world but is standalone, although characters occasionally cross over. The reputation of the Deana-dhe is one of mysticism and mystery mixed with lethality. I loved the idea of these enigmatic men. They weren't what I was expecting. I knew they were lethal but I wasn't prepared for their cruelty. They enjoyed hurting Cyn because they could. I struggled with this. I would have preferred more visions, less spite.

The villain 🦹🏻‍♂️ was so pathetic… Ooooooo he has the bones of his prior victims in his bedroom. Oooooo he was tattooed like a skeleton….. Yawn…… Having read the Academy of Stardom series, I couldn't wait to know the story of the Deana-dhe and their love story.Oh my god, Bea! Standing ovation. It was great to see all characters in one book reunite to save Cyn from the Skull Brotherhood! It's like Bea's own Marvel universe. I almost cried, screaming, YES, the anxiety was there. Plus ANGER. I was on the edge of my seat and jumping around. I had during the first half of the book was just a rollercoaster of emotions.

But if I am the apple they never wanted to bite, then they are the snakes willing to use me for their own benefit. stars. I didn’t dislike this book. I like this author, I love this British criminal underworld that she’s created in all of her books. I like her characters. Sadly, the Breakers weren’t in this one. But Grim and Beast were, and they were the best parts. But, I did have several issues with this story that prevents me from being able to give it 4 stars. Definitely another favourite here from Bea. The way the characters lives weave into the same world always gets me. I'm looking forward to seeing where Curses and Cures leads us. Deana-dhe are twisted sociopaths and sexy as hell. They trade information for debts owed to them at a time of their choosing. We take a look at the early days of these debt traders. There was also the case of appearances being made by her family members, which brought forth some revelations bringing more to the story from what was revealed, filling in some missing pieces when it came to Cyn’s life story.Define what debts are and the different types of debts (credit card debt, student loans, mortgages, etc.) The second issue I had with this book is a death that happens in the middle, of Faith, Cyn’s new friend who she meets during her time kidnapped by the Skull Brotherhood. Her death feels needlessly tragic and traumatic, like Tragedy Porn just for the sake of it. An author’s note at the end explains that she didn’t plan to kill Faith, but it just happened, and she’s justifying it by saying that sometimes in life, good people die. We all know that! Dark romance readers aren’t looking for extreme realism in these stories! We also don’t need a lesson about how life works! One thing to add is just like with Their Obsessionduet, Bea had me falling hard for one in particular that being Lorcan.
