About this deal

When I spoke to Rob Lang, General Manager of Indi Golf, he talked about how you could also use these wedges to learn more about how, when, and where to use your wedges. As well as how to hit them in certain instances. And how all of this would build confidence into your wedge play and short game. The Indi Golf StingRay TT wedges are the tournament legal version of the original StingRay. Lots of spin. Excellent sole design. Introduction For this MyGolfSpy Member Testing opportunity, we are looking for four golfers to test, review, report and keep a set of Indi Golf wedges. Indi Golf first crossed our radar with their original Stingray wedge (review HERE). Those wedges are designed to help the average golfer see Tour-like spin but are not approved for USGA competitions. just prior to receiving the Indi's I spent 1-2 weeks focusing on greenside play due to poor performance mentioned above. This drove some improvement with my previous gamers and continued with the Indi's along with more dedicated short game time to evaluate their reactions around the green, distance gapping, etc.

This is strictly based on Strokes Gained. Think of strokes gained as how each participating golf club or wedge performs relative to the field. Not only is this for full-swing shots, it also accounts for shots from 50-yards in both dry and wet conditions. The chip shot came out with a lower than expected trajectory, but that’s also part of the design of the club itself, hit the green, bounced once, and stopped. This was out of the rough. At a shot level around the green, only 2/7 previous rounds with the 60* resulted in positive Strokes Gained totals with that club vs my benchmark. Of these 7 rounds, they were all played on different courses in 2 different provinces and in Florida across multiple golf trips. We limit variables by collecting data using Titleist Pro V1 as our official testing golf ball and Foresight GCQuad as our official ball launch monitor. In the golfing world, the terms “illegal” or “non-conforming” are used to describe equipment that does not meet the stringent standards set by the sport’s governing bodies.Tester Nunfa0 being a lefty had a bit less in terms of options, but was aptly fit into a INDI FLX S 52, 56, 60 combo with their progress grinds. The wedges came with the Dynamic Gold Spinner 115 Wedge shafts. That being said, assess your own game to make sure you’re replacing your wedges often enough. For tour pros, that’s several times a year. For the rest of us, not as often although avid golfers should consider replacing wedges annually. I have not found anything to support their spin royalty claims as spin is comparable/lower to that of major OEMs but distance control and consistency on mishits appears to exceed.“ That being said, there are a lot of us who never have, and likely never will, play in any kind of USGA-sanctioned event. Which means we’re free to play with these bad boys.

They’re really no different than you and me. Guys that just want to go out on the weekend and enjoy themselves on a golf course.

The consistency in distance on approach shots with the Indi wedges is their greatest strength in my opinion and was observed through indoor testing and on course. Poor strikes tended to drop spin which aided carry and rollout to arrive close to where a good strike would drop and stop. As someone who gets their money's worth by using the majority of the club face throughout the bag, these are a big benefit to my game within 100 yards. I am growing to enjoy the 60 FLX with low (8*) bounce and a wide flange as a specialty sand club…The wedges show minimal wear through close to 10 rounds and many practice sessions including bunker work to learn how to use them out of the sand which I consider another plus.” Similarly, illegal wedges with specially engineered face textures can offer a heightened level of grip on the ball, making it easier to execute complex shots that might be more challenging with a conforming club. In short, these clubs can make certain aspects of the game easier, potentially lowering your score and increasing your enjoyment on the course. I reviewed full season stats in Shot Scope yesterday as I have likely played my last round. Overall the Indi wedges performed well on both approaches and around the green. The 56* has performed noticeably better than either my previous 54 or 58 and is staying in the bag. The 60*LW has been an outlier however. Once I saw the numbers, I could not wait to get them out on the course and see how they would play in the real world. They did not disappoint. For this Member Testing Opportunity we are looking for 4 Forum Members to test, keep and review a set of Indi Golf Wedges. Included in this test is a full virtual fitting with @indigolf!
