About this deal

There are two types of water deionizers. You have mixed-bed resin filters and multiple-bed deionizers. Stage 2 is a vessel holding ion exchange resin. Ion exchange resin is a bead-like substance made from an organic polymer substrate. Mains water comes into the unit and is distributed from the bottom head and up under pressure into the resin bed, and as its only outlet is into the pipe, comes through the resin bed to emerge on the outlet side as close to 0 parts per million (ppm) of dissolved solids as possible. Using a hosepipe to wash a car uses approx. 30 litres of water (AutoExpress 21/3/2012), a final rinse only a fraction of that – we estimate 5-7 litres at most. This is a breakthrough in filtered water product for car washing that is proving to be very popular. We recommend that a final rinse is performed at half mains pressure, just sufficient to create a wave of water over the vehicle, and should be able to be completed in around 45 seconds for a standard family car, little over a minute for a 4×4. This is based on our own usage over the last 11 years.

The CWS-300 is a versatile machine suited for personal use. The 20-inch canister captures dissolved solids. As it captures these solids, it releases hydrogen and oxygen into the water. Our favorite feature on this system is the moveable stand. It makes moving the 51 pounds around extremely easy. This deionizer is equipped with a bypass valve, so you can use regular tap water without needing to alter the setup or your hoses. For those looking to invest that reside in areas with particularly hard level of water there is also a 30ppm De-Ionising Walter Filter (also coming in a 12 Inch or 30 Inch option) which can assist in prolonging the life in the filter. Alternatively a 30ppm can also be used in-line with a 0ppm filter. The dissolved solids in regular water are mostly mineral salts. The total count of these dissolved solids in a liter of water is known as total dissolved solids (TDS). These salts cause an increase in the acidic level of the water. Such water may react with the body paint and leave dirt traces on the surface. The deionization system removes this solid content and improves the purity of water. Every system cleans a set amount of solids before changing the filter. The normal TDS removal capacity of a deionizing system ranges between 2500 to 4500 solid particles per refill. 2. StorageUsing deionized water will prevent swirls and scratches and prepares your vehicle for a clear coat for waxing or sealants. Better still, it’s intuitive to use. At just half mains pressure, you can give your car a fine, wavy mist of pure water. For smaller cars, it takes no more than 45 seconds to cover its entire surface area, or just about a minute for larger SUVs and our campervan here. Once that’s done, you don’t have to fiddle about with a towel trying to dry it completely, which is great in the winter and summer for different reasons. Also, the filter and resin themselves are rather long-lasting. Water spots are the little circular dots that can be left on your car after you leave water droplets to dry on it. They can ruin the appearance of your vehicle’s paintwork and can eventually cause permanent damage. The water to be treated passes through a bed of the resin; negatively-charged resins absorb and bind metal ions, which are positively charged. The resins initially contain a divalent (single) hydrogen, sodium or potassium ions, which exchange with divalent calcium and magnesium ions in the water. This exchange eliminates precipitation and soap scum formation. As the water passes through both kinds of resin, the hardness ions replace the hydrogen, sodium or potassium ions which are released into the water. The "harder" the water, the more hydrogen, sodium or potassium ions are released from the resin and into the water For the deionization process, the storage tank contains a bag full of filter raisins. These raisins react with water and convert the regular water to a more pure form. A nozzle is also provided to spray the water with accurate pressure. The overall construction of this system is lightweight and helps in transporting it from one place to the other.

The APEC CWS-300 Water Deionization System offers an advanced deionization process. It can separate dissolved solids at the molecular level and turns regular water into a pure one. The dual set of 20-inch DI filters efficiently treats the water and eliminates every mineral from the water. The water system can deionize water with TDS ranging from 50 to 500 ppm easily. Adam Polishes is a manufacturer of detailing accessories for automobiles. By using two decades of experience, it can make water filtration products that a consumer can easily use. Constructed of the finest quality microfibers, the detailing towels set the standard with an outstanding 80/20 blend of polyester/polyamide filament, woven so densely they boast over 200,000 strands of fiber per square inch of fabric! These strands are nearly invisible to the naked eye, and are 100 times smaller than a human hair! Use these cloths for cleaning, buffing, and wiping away wax. The Spot Free Water De-Ionizer Kit is your solution to water spots and micro-marring produced during washing. Remember, if you're washing your vehicle with unfiltered water, you could unknowingly be pouring hard water scale or sediment on the paint finish. This simple, in-line filtration system is an easy way to eliminate the threat of unclean wash water. For example, this map shows that for those of us living in the south, the levels of hardness are much higher and they’ll even tend to increase the further south east you go. Inside the car, the deionized water is useful for cleaning electronics and tends to clean upholstery better as it is not likely to leave water stains or marks.

Car Water Filter For A Spotless Finish.

I’ve been plagued with water spots after washing my car in the hot weather so I decided to try a water filter. Initially, I was going to buy an Aquagleam but then I saw the Raceglaze version which is refillable. I tried it for the first time today and to say I’m impressed is an understatement! I didn’t believe it could dry without any spots or streaks, but it does. Even more impressive is the finish it leaves. Compared to the filtered water, normal tap water seems to leave a film over the paint which obscures/dulls the shine. Once dry, the filtered water leaves the paint with a sort of smoothness which is difficult to describe. It feels almost like it’s just been clayed. I washed the paintwork and left it to bake in the sun (for test purposes) whilst I cleaned the wheels. I had to dry the last few drops off with a towel because I wanted to apply some Jett, but even before towel drying there were no spots or streaks to be seen. The Jett normally adds a slight amount of depth to the shine but after rinsing with the filtered water it looks totally different. It’s far more glossy and the reflections are much sharper. I was going to take some pictures but there was a cloudburst before I could finish with the Jett If anyone is thinking of getting one of these but is hesitating because of the price, find the money from somewhere and just get it! You will not be disappointed.

Salt does not directly soften water; salt is only used to regenerate water softeners. The salt creates brine, which flushes the resin bed in the water softener to restore the univalent sodium ions. The sodium does an ion exchange with the hardness metals (calcium, magnesium, etc), so basically the hardness metals are replaced with sodium. If you want pure-filtered water to give your vehicle a final dry-free rinse then this is the kit to use. The Raceglaze 7 litre water filter is much cheaper per litre of water than Aquagleam units you can buy (which have leaked filter resin with the water when I used to use them before discovering Raceglaze water filters). Deionized water has no minerals that cause visible water spots, and when using it, you get a spot-free wash. There is no mineral residue, and it eliminates odors. Diluted chemical dries your car faster and cleaner, which will save time. Keep in mind that deionizers are designed to rinse cars, not wash them. It will be an expensive carwash if you use it to wash your entire vehicle instead of just a final rinse. This corrosive effect can cause microscopic craters to develop in the clear coat or top paint layer of your vehicle’s paint job. These craters will attract more water, causing the accumulation of even more contaminants which further deepens the indentations. This is a guide and results will depend on the actually TDS rating of your water. Most will use an average of 8-10L per rinse, with volume totals below (0ppm / 30ppm).
