I think the midsole foam that Brooks uses in the Ghost 13 still lags behind in responsiveness compared to the explosive forefoot of the Pegasus 37 with its Zoom Air unit or the Ride 13 with its bouncy TPU-EVA blend Pwrrun midsole. I’m normally in-between shoe sizes so I made the decision to go with the bigger size because Ghost uppers are so padded and plush. The high-volume forefoot means that the standard width Ghost 13 is more suited to wide-footed runners who need extra room for their feet to splay.

The last negative about the Ghost is it doesn’t compare to the new cushioning setups and the new technologies that might be more exciting or more tailored to individualistic crowds. First off, the Ghost is a neutral shoe. Basically, the runner who wears a neutral shoe is someone whose feet do not need any motion control whatsoever. If you have overpronation issues, meaning your feet tend to roll inward too much, the Ghost is not going to provide any guidance or correction. Instead, you should be looking at something else like the Brooks Adrenaline GTS. (Sponsored) Brooks Ghost 13 There isn’t any major performance or benefits that you can feel from the Ghost, which isn’t a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. It feels like a very reliable comfortable shoe with that kind of conventional feel.The mesh upper of the Ghost 13 also felt softer and more stretchy than the stiffer upper of the Ghost 12. The heel counter is also less padded than the Ghost 12. There are three wide flex grooves which span the entire width of the shoe underneath the forefoot which results in a very flexible Ghost 13. I’ve run about 60k so far in the Ghost 14 and that’s varied between 10k training runs up to half marathon training runs with a bit of faster running thrown into those runs to see how it does over at higher speeds. Out of the big five daily trainers which consists of the Pegasus, Cumulus, Ghost, Ride and 880, the Ghost 13 was the last to be released in 2020.

Sure, the colors. I can say that as for looks they are maybe differently combined slightly more intense but otherwise the same as well. How do you like the design of the new Brooks Ghost 13? What I found special about Brooks Ghost 13 DNA Loft is basically Brooks’ softest cushioning to date. It’s basically a blend of EVA foam rubber and air to give you that perfect balance between responsiveness and cushioning. Even though the DNA Loft is Brooks’ softest version of their foam, the Ghost is not unstable or mushy in any way. I’ve been using the Brooks Ghost 14 over the last few weeks of marathon training. I’ve been using it for lots of fairly big mileage weeks and doing a lot of easy and steady running in it. I didn’t get a huge amount of bounce, rebound, or snap transitions from the Ghost. It’s all kind of solid cruiser. The Ghost series is the burger and fries of road running shoes. It’s one of those great reliable daily trainers that you go to if you want a shoe that can handle pretty much any run you throw at it and a shoe you can log 500+ miles in. But that doesn’t mean Brooks can’t make super shoes like other brands. It’s just that they’re making an entry-level running shoe for beginning runners or runners who want a shoe to do it all.Omega Flex Grooves have been deepened to enhance midsole flexibility without compromising cushioning.

The whole idea of releasing a new version of a shoe is to improve upon the last version. Brooks, in most part, has succeeded with this. The analysis suggests that compared with the Brooks Ghost 12, the 13 has a firmer heel, are more comfortable, have better breathability, has a larger toe-box, and come in slightly lighter. I liked the fun 80’s style graphic overlays on the midfoot and rearfoot of the Ghost 13 more than the all-business style upper of the Ghost 12.I can’t mark the upper of the Ghost 13 down for anything except the fact that it doesn’t have a gusseted tongue.
