They describe themselves as Clean Hanbang Beauty which I think is just a way to differentiate themselves from the other Korean Clean Beauty brands.
Ginseng is the most important herbal ingredient in Korean history. In the Joseon Dynasty, it was called 'Shincho', meaning herb from the gods. The rich saponin contained in ginseng helps to make the skin healthier and more energized. During the times I used the samples, I was surprised to find out how these serums significantly calmed down my inflamed skin. In particular, the Calming Serum with green tea and panthenol was an absolute joy to help hydrate and give my irritated skin some relief. I’d dispense a dropper-full or two onto my palm and pat the serum over my skin. And as a side note, I would also mix a few drops of serum into my CC cream to prevent dry patches or flakes, while simultaneously giving a glass-skin-like glow. The Highlights
What is Hanbang?
Unlike some other moisturizers, it doesn’t completely absorb into the skin, which is honestly fine. Squalane, which has properties similar to sebum, helps to balance oil and moisture and acts as a moisture barrier to protect the skin from external stimuli. But I’ll highly recommend this product for any skin type that is prone to dehydration or is struggling with a compromised or damaged skin barrier. The Beauty of Joseon eye serum is a ginseng and retinal-focused silky serum with a yellow hue. It contains 10% ginseng extract and 2% retinal liposome to help improve wrinkles around the eyes and can be used for the entire face – the affordable price tag takes away the guilt of doing so too. Interestingly, there’s also cocoa extract, cholesterol, hydrogenated lecithin, niacinamide, and ceramides. So, the significant difference between both versions is the addition of some other beneficial ingredients.So a lot of the ingredients you’ll see in their products are what the women in the Joseon Dynasty used to achieve flawless skin. Softens. Glycerin softens the skin so other hydrating ingredients can more easily penetrate the skin. My skin is resilient (I haven’t reacted to hundreds of products throughout my lifetime). Still, I am a Tretinoin user, and first and foremost, I focus on barrier strengthening. Beauty of Joseon would be one of the most preferable K-Beauty brands for those focused on making foundational improvements to their skin. A big focus of the brand is about improving complexion and helping skin become (and not simply appear) healthier. It just so happens to help they have added a touch of luxury to their ranges as well.
Joseon was a Korean dynasty that lasted over 500 years. In the Joseon period, the practice of sumptuous makeup was restrained by the values of Confucianism. Instead, other objects such as white, blue, and white porcelain cosmetics containers, mirrors, combs, hats, pendants, and hairpins were developed.
