About this deal

Some time later, Dent, who was engaged to Grace Lamont, started a war against crime and mob boss Rupert Thorne as part of his re-election campaign. However, Thorne learned of Dent's psychological problems and he threatened to expose his secret. Harvey's anger persona, "Big Bad Harv", took over and a fight broke out between between Dent and Thorne's men. Batman arrived to help as Dent chased Thorne across the chemical plant. The fight caused and accidental explosion that deformed the left side of Dent's body. After recovering at a hospital, Dent finally saw his face on a mirror and the trauma was powerful enough to force his alternate personality to dominate and then, he escaped from the hospital. [1] Two-Face Harvey Dent has kept himself in peak physical conditions, even before his transformation into Two-Face and had exercise equipment in his office when he was an assistant district attorney. He later received combat training from Batman and Deathstroke. [50] The Batman: Face the Face story arc reveals that Batman, shortly before leaving Gotham for a year, trains Dent extensively in detective work and martial arts. [51] To further improve his proficiency in the use of firearms, Dent hires the sharpshooting assassin Deathstroke to train him. [52] [51] Relationships [ edit ] When Two-Face first appeared in Detective Comics #66 ,his real name was Harvey “Apollo” Kent. He kept the Kent surname for his next few appearances, until it was changed to Harvey Dent in 1948’s Batman #50. The change was likely done to avoid confusion with a certain mild-mannered Metropolis reporter. This was later used as a plot point in Superman Family #211 when Earth-Two’s Lois Lane mistakenly believed that one of Harvey Kent’s enemies was targeting her husband. Serafino, Jason (May 1, 2014). Multiple Personalities: Even before his tragic accident, Dent had two personalities - one friendly and polite, the other "Big Bad Harv," violent and rash. During the course of his life, he also developed a third personality: the Judge.

The new Earth-Three features a heroic female counterpart to Two-Face: Evelyn "Eve" Dent—"Three-Face"—the mother of Duela Dent (a nod to the classic film, The Three Faces of Eve). Her original affiliation is to the heroic Riddler Family (like the similar Batman Family); it included herself, Quizmaster, Jokester, and Riddler's/Joker's Daughter (her daughter Duela). They were later part of Alexander Luthor's Justice Underground, opposing Ultraman's Crime Syndicate. It could be safely assumed that Two-Face was taken to temporary holding cells when the GCPD invaded the mega prison. In the Batman: Hush storyline, Dent's face is repaired by plastic surgery, seemingly eradicating the Two-Face personality. Dent takes the law into his own hands twice: once by using his ability to manipulate the legal system to free the Joker, and then again by shooting the serial killer Hush. He manipulates the courts into setting him free, as Gotham's prosecutors would not attempt to charge him without a body. It's unclear as to what Gordon meant at the end of film when he mentioned two of the people Harvey killed were cops. It's possible that he meant the two cops guarding his family before Harvey kidnapped them. He most likely didn't count Michael Wuertz because either a) he was corrupted so Gordon didn't care enough to do so or b) Wuertz most likely retired from the force after receiving his money from the mob, so therefore he was no longer a cop. After his first few encounters with Batman, Two-Face attempted to abandon all ties with his own past life, including his loving wife Gilda. This, however, proved too much for the good side of his personality, and he began attempting to visit Gilda, claiming he had regained his face through plastic surgery. Gilda, however, soon saw through the fabrication, and this unhinged Dent even more. Finally, he was apprehended by Batman, with the help of his partner, Robin. How many times have we done this, Batman? You put us behind bars only for us to escape. Your life is meaningless. A charade!" At the time of his job as a district attorney, the worst criminal threat in Gotham City was Carmine "the Roman" Falcone. He forged a triumvirate with Batman and Commissioner Gordon to bring the man down within the law, no matter what the cost. His slightly angrier temperament led Batman and Commissioner Gordon to develop a slight distrust for him, believing that it was slightly possible that he could be the vigilante dubbed " Holiday." The alliance ended tragically when Sal "Boss" Maroni, believing Dent to be responsible for the death of his father, threw acid in his face during a trial. Dent was horribly scarred on the left side of his face.

Going to join your wife? You love her? You ever imagine what it would be like to listen to her die? Daniels, Les (1999). Batman: The Complete History. San Francisco: Chronicle Books. ISBN 978-0811824705. As a young man, Dent became an incredibly skilled defense attorney for criminals in Gotham and began making a name for himself in the city. Harvey was introduced to his future wife Gilda Gold by Bruce Wayne at one of his parties, who believed that the two would have chemistry. [3] McElhatton, Greg (April 9, 2015). Salvatore Maroni seemingly died after a confrontation with Two-Face in DC Super-Stars #14, but it was later revealed that he survived and had become physically disabled. In retaliation, Maroni murdered Gilda Dent’s new husband Dave Stevens, enraging Two-Face, who murdered Maroni “for a second time” in Batman #328-239.

Two-Face attempts to justify his crimes to Batman whilst explaining his view on the world's judgment. In “Batman: Hush,” Tommy Elliot restores Harvey Dent’s face, giving the former district attorney enough clarity to renounce his life of crime. For a period of time, Dent became one of Batman’s greatest allies. The Dark Knight even tasked Dent with watching over Gotham for a full year while he took a trip around the world.
