About this deal

Eye Size and Shape: The size and shape of your eyes are important details to keep in mind when shopping for magnetic lashes. If you have big eyes, the Moxie Lash Magnetic Eyelashes might fit you best. Alternatively, if you have smaller eyes, the Ardell Magnetic Gel Liner and Lash Set wowed us an option for those with tinier eyes. Those with hooded eyelids, for example, should look for a lash strip that has longer lashes in the middle (like the Velour Lashes No Trim No Measure Magnetic Lash Kit), which can help open up your eyes. One coat later and I was pretty impressed. If I was going out of the house I would definitely go in with another coat or two, as the mascara definitely focuses on length over volume (thanks to the magnetic fibres which cling to the ends of your lashes as you pull the wand away).By the evening, there was a slight transfer on my eyelids, which I usually expect as my skin can be quite oily. However, the staying power was proved by the removal process, requiring a little more elbow grease and good faith to remove all traces. When it comes to mascara, I look for something lengthening, curling and that doesn’t smudge throughout the day.

Tip: Swirl your brush instead of pumping it; this will limit the amount of air in the tube and improve the longevity of your product. When I was finished applying the mascara and inspected my lashes in the mirror, I was every bit impressed. This mascara helped me achieve my goal of having lashes that pop on camera, so it's safe to say it has won me over. The lengthening effects were clearly visible, making it appear as though I glued on a pair of fluttery faux lashes. Though there were a few small clumps on my lashes post-application, that's not a dealbreaker for me. The dynamic formula allows it to provide stunning definition, volume, and length that lasted all day. And if you're wondering, it didn't flake or smudge at all. This set comes with everything you need for lash application, so it’s great for beginners who have long been fans of Russian-style infills or extensions and want to recreate a similar look at home.

Wiggle the brush from the root of your lashes to the tips. Allow for a few seconds of drying time, and apply another coat if desired.

These lashes are much kinder to your natural lashes (and your wallet) than regular salon treatments, and, with proper care, you can get up to 30 wears out of them. The force of the magnet is subtle, so you can't feel it working — but you can see the results immediately. I usually spend loads of time trying to get my brush into every little nook and cranny of my eye, but the magnetic pull of this formula against the brush does all of that for me. So not only do my lashes look longer and fuller than normal, I can get them that way in a fraction of the time. We tried a sample from the Classic collection (Queen Me), and despite being the most ‘subtle’ in the range, they still offer amazing density and drama – just as salon-style infills would.Using the wand, I raked the mascara through my lashes, making sure I started right at my lash line. I like to apply one coat of mascara to each eye, let it set a little bit, and then go in with a second layer. Weight: If you’re a beginner (or hate the feeling of weighed-down lashes), opt for a lash strip that has lighter, smaller lashes. Daintier lashes, like the Moxie Lash Classy Lash, won’t feel as foreign and can actually help you get used to the feeling of faux lashes. Lashes look long and lifted; Benefit did an instrumental test on 21 women and the results were that lashes looked 40% longer! The proof is in the picture too, scroll to the team review section for my own before and after to see the effect for yourself. If you have larger eyes, consider yourself blessed—you’re spared from the annoyance of cutting and shaping faux lashes. These lashes from MoxieLash are on the larger side, so if you have long eyes, these are a great option to consider. Larger strips have the potential to be more irritating since they cover more area, but that’s not the case with these lashes. We liked how comfortable they felt once they adhered to the magnetic liner; we couldn’t feel the magnets at all, even when we blinked or moved our eyes around. Though they have a cat-eye shape, they don’t look too fake and provide a touch of glam perfect for a party or special event. Just keep in mind that once they attach to the liner, they’re super strong. If you need to readjust, you may have to use a little extra effort. Aim to apply your regular eyeliner prior to topping it with a magnetic one. Keep in mind that the kind of eyeliner that usually comes in a kit with magnetic eyelashes might not be the one that you're used to. I, for one, am not as good with a traditional liquid eyeliner as I am with a felt tip marker. So if I'm going for a crisp cat-eye look, I'll make sure to draw my wing first, then outline the rest of the shape and fill the rest in with the magnetic liner. That way, you can achieve a cleaner and sharper result every time. For full disclosure, I’m a big and bold lash type gyal. In fact, I like my lashes as dramatic as a good Hollywood movie, with a touch of reality of course. However, I hate faffing with falsies, so I spend a lot of time hunting for new mascaras that will give me maximum volume and curl with minimal effort. I’m a fan of Benefit mascaras and my expectations were very high, because if we’re talking ‘They’re Real!’ but better, I know we are about to hit iconic grounds.Try to avoid putting your mascara on prior to applying the lashes. I found that magnetic eyeliner can often clump up and smudge my mascara if I were to apply it before the false magnetic eyelashes. Little tip: aim for waterproof mascara to avoid it moving throughout the day.

Magnetic lashes can typically be applied one of two ways; with a magnetic eyeliner or by sandwiching your real lashes in between two strips of magnetic lashes. Both methods use magnetization to adhere the lashes and are way less messy than using typical lash glue, not to mention more gentle on the eyelid. The eyeliner method is definitely easier to master, but if you don’t like the look of eyeliner you may want to try the second method. It really comes down to personal preference and how much patience you have.
