About this deal

Seth opened the door to the living room and frowned at the sight in front of him, Marcus had April pinned to the wall, Nixon was trying to pull him off her and Celina was just standing there looking as confused as he was. John “JB” Crutchley is known as the Vampire Rapist because he drained the blood of his victims and would drink it in front of him as he repeatedly raped them. Although he was only convicted of the kidnapping and rape of a nineteen-year-old girl. But the police think that he has killed more than thirty people. Unfortunately, they could not find the evidence to prosecute him.

I love the way The Vampire Next Door by J T Hunter was written. The story flows smoothly, drawing me in to the twisted story of John Crutchley. JT Hunter is a lawyer that has spent the last two years looking into this case and has done an amazing job presenting the case of JB Crutchley. I like how he notes that with any book like this one there is certain guessing when talking about the person. JT has written a captivating story of a man that had a horrible childhood and some serious issues later in his life. We're told what people are thinking at certain times and about certain situations, when the author couldn't possibly know what any of these people thought because he didn't interview anyone.Marcus looked over his shoulder at Seth and shook his head, “You won’t want me to let go of her when you know what she has done!” So this is the second season (book) in a Kindle Vella serial (episodes 19 -33!) If you aren’t familiar with Kindle Vellas, it’s a way for authors to essentially write ✍️ a little bit per week and you can read it via a token system with Kindle! Once the author has enough written where they think the collection would make a book 📕, they can then make it available via Kindle Unlimited (they have to wait 30 days ☀️ after the last episode on Kindle Vella to make the grouping of episodes available on KU, FYI!) And this is what this author did! WHICH IS SO GREAT 🤩! Also with this approach, the books tend to be shorter 🤏🏻… which makes them PERFECT 👌🏻 for a weekend 🌴 read, in my opinion 😁! Good side characters: This time around there was a bit more with her sister and his brother and she did talk to her bestie. But still not really what I would count as true side characters. Good FMC: She was not as much fun as last time, she's still super sassy, and she's all kinds of push the bad vampire's buttons to see what nasty things he's going to do to her, which both terrifies her and excites her. So she's up to that a lot. Also she finds out that there are things about her past she didn't know, so she's reeling from this not knowing... Anchoring to the bad vamp. Sebastian Alexander is looking for "Jane Doe" and will stop at nothing to find her. The local newscasters posted a photo of Jane and Sebastian was relieved that she was alive. Sebastian finds the hospital she's at and sees just how bad shape she's in. Sebastian bites his wrist and makes her drink his blood.

Cliffhanger -- but as the author clearly states, this is an ongoing series, originally put out on Kindle Vella, so it's serialized intentionally. Good story/plot: This one lagged a bit for me... Some reveals happened, but it took a long time to get there. The film does an excellent job of showing the passing of time and, by the early 20th Century she meets a vampire named Josephine (Kayle Workman). Jo teaches her, amongst other things, English and, when we get to hear their ages, is a younger vampire than Evelyn. However, she has much less regard for human lives than the older (and somehow more innocent) vampire and this will eventually bring them into conflict – a conflict that will resolve in the 1989 primary setting of the film. The vampires are pretty traditional; they avoid sunlight and a stake through the heart or beheading will kill. The dead vampire will burn up. They also need invitation to enter a home and are warded and injured by crosses. This makes Evelyn’s choice to carry the cross jean gave her, albeit wrapped in fabric, telling. There is a theme, of course, of reincarnation underpinning the story. What I won’t do, for this free to watch movie, is give it a score. I will say, however, that I have seen much (and substantially) worse. It can be found on YouTube. She just seems like one of those people that is completely defined by the people around them. No real personality of her own, just changing and begging for the approval of whomever will toss her scraps of affection. The evolution of their story, the mystery of what happened to those missing colleagues and society's reaction to vampires having been integrated into the mainstream is what this story is about. Let's start with Jane Doe. Like I said, I felt close to her. I usually prefer when the story is told with the first person, but here it was great to know about the main character through different points of view. I could know her feelings, what she thinks and I found myself asking the same questions as she does. Jane is warm, smart and pretty. She is also brave even when she feels broken and lost. She is a survivor but that doesn't mean she doesn't need to be protected. And she absolutly needs to be !
