Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio is a product of Santa Margherita Italy. Founded in 1935, Santa Margherita has more than eighty years in the production of Italian wine. Located between the tongue‐twisting towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, this DOCG is Prosecco’s historical heartland and the most respected area in the Prosecco region. The local climate is mild, influenced by both the warmer air coming up from the Adriatic Sea and the cooler air coming down from the Dolomites. In this way they contributed to the growth of a new category of wines made in Italy, which is still today the most requested and sold white wine imported in the United States. Among all of them, Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio has been able to maintain a solid leadership, remaining for four decades at the top of the charts as the most imported and sold Italian white wine in the US”.

According to winemaker Peter Zemmer, not all pinot grigio is the same. “In Alto Adige, pinot grigio flourishes under outstanding cool climatic conditions with big temperature differences between day and night,” he says, describing these conditions, in addition to good sunshine and ventilation, as “favorable for the variety.Veneto has a moderate climate with short, dry summers and low rainfall during the growing season.
