About this deal

Your boiler’s heart is the Printed Circuit Board (PCB). Your boiler will not work without it. The PCB may be responsible for other issues, such as a fault code for a gas valve. The LED lights on your display panel might be flashing, the boiler cutting off before reaching temperature, or hot water working even though the heating is not. The fan is wired up to the PCB to enable the transmission of signals between the parts. The wiring may become damaged or loose through vibrations in the boiler, preventing the PCB from confirming if the fan is working properly.

These are usually referred to as ‘flue gases’ and the fan blows them down the ‘flue pipe’, which travels away from the boiler and out of your home. The flue is the large white pipe that comes out of your boiler and is where the fan pushes out toxic gases, either horizontally from the side of your house, or vertically from the roof. Again, this is a common fault with Ideal Isar and Icos boilers, and can be really quite startling. This is similar to the problem mentioned above with the Ideal Response, as the sensors have failed and the boiler did not light on the first or second attempt – however, on the third attempt there happened to be a lot of gas in the chamber which causes explosive ignition.Having a faulty boiler is never fun, and well… it’s hardly ideal (pardon the pun) to be left without heating or hot water – especially if you have a family to care for. The cost of this will depend on the length of pipe needed, which will also affect how long the repairs will take. If There Is a Problem With the Gas Pressure

A Gas Safe heating engineer will need to visit your home to assess the problem with the valve. Make sure the company is specialised in repairs. Many homeowners will share horror stories on online forums about having to replace the gas valve and the PCB only to discover that the problem is still there.

TIP: If you’re in any doubt, or it’s not an easy fix such as low pressure or a frozen condensate, DO NOT try to fix the boiler yourself – always call a professional Gas Safe registered heating engineer. About Ideal boilers

If this is the issue, they will need to replace the wiring, which doesn’t require any expensive parts. If your boiler was recently installed or had repairs, the fan could have been set at the wrong speed for your system. This would prevent it from venting flue gases. Getting a boiler replacement may seem like a lot but is often a very easy and simple process. You can l ook into boiler installation as well to understand what the process of it is.Your boiler’s gas valve will open and close to ensure that the burner has the right amount of gas. If the gas valve has been adjusted incorrectly, it will not allow for this. This is one of the more common gas valve problems that people experience when something is wrong with their valves. If it cannot confirm a stage, such as the flame being lit, it will stop the boiler from working and show a fault code.

A draught is the flow of air produced by the boiler fan. The draught pulls harmful waste gases out of the flue pipe to ensure they don’t buildup on your property. Gas pressure will affect the strength of your boiler’s flame. A gas pressure of too low should be avoided. The flame will not go out if the gas pressure is too low. If the gas pressure is not correct, your Ideal boiler will display an F2 fault code.So my boiler is out of the 2 year warranty, but I would like to understand from more knowledgeable folk if this gas valve is expected to last longer than 26/27 months. However less than 2 weeks after its last service we get bangs and flute noises and F2 fault code sporadically.
