About this deal

Night sensing lowers the brightness of alarm’s heartbeat sensor and automatically activates ‘sleep easy’ mode, allowing residents to silence low battery chirps for 8 hours, up to 10 times. The FA3820-EUX10 Carbon Monoxide Alarm offers a variety of safety features, including Ventilate Instruction, Alarm Memory, Sleep Easy and Quiet Self Test. Do not install CO alarms within 3 metres of doors or windows, above radiators, or immediately close to anything that gives off steam or fumes like a cooker or shower room. Similarly, it is not recommended to install detectors in dusty areas such as workshops or garages.

Following amendments to the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015, since October 1st 2022 a carbon monoxide alarm is now required in all rooms where there is a fixed combustion appliance – such as gas boilers or gas fires – once the compliance date is announced. However, gas cookers are excluded from the updated regulation. The alarm features the latest CO sensing technology and can be used to replace end-of-life FireAngel CO-9X alarms. Fitted with a sealed, tamper proof battery that will last the lifetime of the alarm. The sensors within the unit will deteriorate after 10 years, so to ensure you’re protected we recommend you replace the unit after this time. Once your CO alarm is activated and tested, choose to install the alarm by mounting on a wall or free standing on a shelf. Your alarm should be placed 1-3 metres away from any fuel burning appliance in your home, in living rooms or bedrooms. If there is a partition in a room, the alarm should be located on the same side of the partition as the potential source.

If your alarm is not a sealed battery alarm, then install the batteries following the steps within the manual. Please note, only the sealed battery CO alarms, including the FA3820, FA3322 and FA3328, are suitable for homes in Scotland under the new fire and CO regulations. Battery powered carbon monoxide alarms can typically be installed wall-mounted or left free-standing on flat, level surface. FireAngel’s FA3322 digital carbon monoxide alarm features many icons on the LCD screen. View our guide below to help you understand what each represents.

Ideally, an alarm should be installed in every room containing a fuel-burning appliance and every sleeping room. Additional alarms may be installed to ensure that adequate warning is given for occupants in other rooms, in which they spend considerable time whilst awake and from which they may not be able to hear an alarm in another part of the property. CO detectors should be installed near potential sources of carbon monoxide, essentially any fuel-burning appliances such as boilers, cookers and ovens, fireplaces (both open and enclosed burners), and portable generators. As you are likely to be most affected by CO in areas of your home that you spend the most time in it is advisable to install alarms in those areas as well, such as the living room and bedrooms. It is also worth noting that while one detector is better than no detectors at all, larger homes may require several detectors to cover the property fully. Remove the disabling clip by pulling it out of the alarm and retain the disabling tab for future use. With the alarm memory function, the red LED will flash to provide a visual indication of a previous CO alarm activation. Combined smoke & CO alarms or mains-powered CO alarms are typically installed on the ceiling and should be at least 30cm away from any wall, light fitting, or other obstruction.

WARNING: This alarm will only indicate the presence of carbon monoxide gas at the sensor. Carbon monoxide gas may be present in other areas. Where should I position the CO alarm? With low level CO monitoring, a pre-alarm warning to open windows helps reduce the risk of CO poisoning and prevents build-up of dangerous CO levels. If a room is not ventilated and ppm levels continue to increase, the alarm will activate. To activate a new CO alarm, pull the disabling tab out of the device and wait up to 1 minute for the green LED to flash to confirm the alarm is active. For the FA3328 only; activate the device by Alarms located in sleeping rooms and in rooms without a fuel-burning appliance should be located relatively close to the breathing zone of the occupants.

Near an appliance: they should be placed within 1 to 3 metres horizontally from the appliance and between the height of the appliance to 150mm below the ceiling – i.e., not above a stove where it would be in the path of steam or fumes. The alarm’s high sensitivity mode will be enabled if the alarm predicts CO levels will increase to or above 180ppm for fast reaction to rising CO levels. FA3820-EUX10: 10 Year Carbon Monoxide Alarm, sealed battery With intelligent CO sensing technology and built-in features including sleep easy function, silence and alarm memory, this alarm will keep residents protected from carbon monoxide. Product Specification

Once your CO alarm is activated, this icon or ‘heartbeat’ will continue to flash a green LED in power mode. If a battery fault or warning has been silenced for a period of 8 hours and times out during night time, the silence period will automatically be extended once for a further 8 hours (night silence will increase the counter by 1 for sleep easy). Please note, this feature is not available with the FA3820 or FA3313 alarms. Understanding FA3322 digital display indicators Landlords must also repair or replace alarms when notified of a fault, but regular alarm testing will remain the responsibility of the resident. The smoke and CO alarms must comply with BS EN 14604 (Smoke) and EN 50291‑1 (CO) and carry a British or European approval mark, such as a Kitemark. Carbon monoxide alarms in rooms with sloped ceilings should be located at the high side of the room.
