About this deal

So Christian is the best character of this series, as usual. A living and breathing and walking white flag, as usual. A victim of his supposed friends, as usual. The “”””plot twist””” of his sex tape has been the funniest part of this book. His presence has been the light at the end of the tunnel. honestly: how did that mf even fall in love with her when all they did was spend hours naked on his desk??? does he even know her name or does he call her Tiges because he genuinely can't remember?) Johna like I want him and Bianca. I rather read about this story than MagJulian gate. Julian deserves better. T - move on. Poor Hen. I could write a whole book on my feelings about Julian and Magnolia but I’ll try and keep it short. There was absolutely no reason for them to be in this book as much as they are. Julian and Magnolia were hooking up while she is in love with BJ. We know BJ and Magnolia are endgame, which makes this whole dragged out “Julian is in love with Magnolia” rhetoric both unnecessary and redundant. If the author wanted to do a “who will Magnolia end up with?” storyline, then she shouldn’t have given away the ending in MP2.

Oh boy. I'm not even sure where to begin. This was one of my most anticipated releases and it's very upsetting when something doesn't live up to expectations. Truthfully, I started to get a bit nervous about this book once the "promo" for it started, but we will get there. Let's just dive in. Bear with me this is my first time writing a review. I had A LOT to say and this was the only format I could thing to get it all out. Daisy Haites: The Great Undoing', right? well, then why was she sidelined in her own book? oh, because we had to sit thru COUNTLESS and ENDLESS chapters of Julian and Magnolia having sex against every surface of The Compound.

Recommended For You

I want to start by saying I have been reading this series since early 2022, and I have recommended it to many people. I liked MP1 and MP2, so it’s disappointing for me to say what I need to about this book.

This book has been painfully bad to read. Jessa Hastings clearly forgot the plot right until the very last chapters and decided to fill the remaining space with unnecessary shit. Henry and Taura: i honestly don't care about them. he's the loser of the group, the spare Ballentine brother that we don't really need and she can't make a choice and stand by it for the life of her. let's hope they end up together so Jonah can FINALLY be free and we can move on to better things! Hands down the most emotional romance book I have ever read and therefore my favourite' (FIVE STARS) the character development, the different relationship + friendship dynamics, the angst, magnolia + julian??? im out here rooting for them, the sheer love the haites siblings have for eachother, THE LOVE DAISY AND CHRISTIAN HAVE FOR EACHOTHER

Like I understand that we also have a Julian POV since he's also in the 2nd book and that Magnolia is a fav character in the mp universe but I somehow felt like their relationship takes over from this book more instead of Daisy and Christian. (since I didn’t read mp:tlwh cause I don’t like Magnolia and BJ that much so I didn’t know that some of what happened here was the same as from that book so that’s why I’m okay with it. probably if I read it, I would be a bit mad too)

JONAH AND BIANCA. we need them. WE. NEED. THEM. Once we get rid of Julian please replace his pov with Jonah’s if you must.

srsly I could not comprehend why Julian is behaving like he’s a main character when 𝘏𝘌 𝘐𝘚 𝘕𝘖𝘛 𝗜𝗱𝗰 𝗶𝗳 𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘃, 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗰 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘃 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗭𝗔, 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝟴 🤡🤡) He’s supposed to stfu and STAY IN HIS LANE. Magnolia - Magnolia was the other character who had the biggest disservice done to her in my opinion. In the other three books, Magnolia was portrayed as a very sweet girl with a large personality who was maybe a bit too ditzy and obsessed with fashion. But in this book Jessa Hastings basically made her a stereotype of herself. There is a difference between being a little naïve and being as dumb as she was in this book. You are telling me that she genuinely thought everyone was lying about Julian being "the most dangerous man in London." Why did she know absolutely nothing about him or his life?? It was a horrible look for her. Jessa basically used her as comic relief by making her the joke everyone but her was in on. I was cringing so hard at some of her lines and scenes. That scene where she interrupted the gang meeting was the most second hand embarrassment I've gotten from a character in a LONG time. I had to physically stop reading because I was about to pull out my hair. I was just so incredibly disappointed in how she was portrayed in this book. I love the relationship between Daisy and Julian. If he dies (there are many foreshadowings about this) my heart is going to break so hard. Daisy - Oh Daisy. I don't know what you did to upset this author but you better get on your knees and beg for forgiveness because it is very clear this author is holding a grudge. Imagine being sidlined in a book that has your name on it. Never in my life have I seen an author be this biased against one of THEIR main characters and so blatantly obvious about it. I truly don't understand why she even bothered to give Daisy books because it's very clear her heart isn't in it. I mean all you have to do is look at that ugly cover she gave this book. Both Magnolia Parks books get a hand drawn cover and Daisy gets a badly photoshopped monstrosity. Although the statue is a Julian reference and the water lillies are for magnolia so maybe it's not Daisy's fault? Anyway, some parts of this book felt like a different Daisy than from book 1, especially when it came to the Tiller relationship. My heart absolutely breaks for her and I hate that we never seem to dive as deep into her trauma as we do with other characters. I know Daisy hated therapy, but she needs it. I'm also so mad that people keep making decisions for her, but we will get there.

This book should have appropriately been called Julian Haites: The Great Undoing. If it had, perhaps I wouldn’t feel as disappointed by this book because my expectations would have been accurately set from the beginning. Even the cover points towards Julian, another disappointment, as the story-telling tattoos feel repetitive after learning how important BJ’s tattoos about Magnolia are in MP1 and MP2. Jessa Hastings said that she doesn’t remember writing this book and that she obsesses about something and then writes about it and it shows. i don’t know if i’m gonna read another daisy haites book because i can’t stand julian and i really like christiandaisy but i’m not as invested in them because of julian taking over their books. he should’ve just been given a novella that i can ignore or something. so disappointing. Julian - sigh, just sigh. Julian and Christian switched personalities in this book, but instead of being a funny pathetic like Christian was, he's just a sad pathetic. Julian's character was done the biggest disservice in this book and it just wasn't believable at all. I don't understand how you can like Julian and like the direction his character has gone. If the author happens to come across this review—here’s something that could really benefit you going forward. https://www.helpingwritersbecomeautho...and clearly, CLEARLY, Jonah is (thankfully) not ending up with her but with Bianca (i've read enough books to know what the author is doing. bring it on, Jessa: best friends, mafia heir x daughter of a politician? i'm sat. these two might be one of the two reasons why i will keep reading this series) I'm already suffering for the way both of them are going to feel guilty about Bridget, and in some point is fair because he wasn't honest with her about what was happening in his life and she did get involved with a gang lord without thinking in the consequences. I had some expectations for this and none of them were met. Truly made me feel nothing, absolutely nothing. I hated how long they stayed together after Daisy realized they weren't gonna work. It was just annoying. The only good thing that came out of this relationship was the stand off in the bar. That was a great scene. The rest of the Box Set I honestly don't even care. They had one good scene when they were laughing about Christian's sex tape, so I guess there's that. At least they weren't beating up on Christian this whole book. Progress. Tiller - made zero noise. Him being Jessa's favorite says more about her than it does about him to be honest. A character who spends half the book disapproving of and lying to his girlfriend is your favorite love interest?? No wonder Magnolia and BJ are the way they are. Anyway I hope if we ever see Tiller again, it's sparingly. He served his purpose now get rid of him.
