About this deal

With a saw blade diameter of 216 millimetres, it is the best in its class. This is based on the special design of the new table saw: The arrangement of motor and gearbox has been optimised so that the saw blade protrudes further than with conventional table saws ‒ and thus achieves more cutting height with a smaller blade.

Something similar is going on with the size of the two saws. The GTS 10 XC is clearly bigger, with a table of 584 x 759 millimeter, compared to the 500 x 658 millimeter of the 635-216. So, given the larger and heavier table, your workpiece will be better supported on the 10 XC. But if you really want to, you can make the same large cuts on the small 635-216 as you can on its larger brother. 635mm is large enough to cut a standard sized plywood sheet in half on the short side. Power Pracovní stůl je pevný a rovný. Pro řezání velkoplošných materiálů je samozřejmě potřeba pilu umístit do nějakého na míru vyrobeného stolu, ale to není žádný problém. Estimated Delivery Timeframes The particularly stable rip fence made of die-cast aluminium ensures high precision: It is attached to the front and rear of the table saw with a double clamp and thus sits reliably with every cut.

Safe and easy transport due to low weight (22 kg), ergonomic handles, and protective onboard storage The Bosch GTS 635-216 table saw is a compact saw with large cutting capacities. The redesign of the motor/gearbox configuration maximises the cutting height from the 216mm blade. The result is a highly portable saw bench with a maximum depth of cut of 70mm and a cutting width of up to 635mm. The accuracy of a table saw depends on three main factors: the fence, miter gauge, and the general flatness/dimensions of the body. If the fence isn’t straight, or moves out of parallel with the saw blade, you’ll never make accurate rip cuts. Works extremely precisely and is exceptionally versatile due to integrated slide carriage, table-widener, and table extension

The sliding table does cost about €100, but even then the TS 254 M comes in cheaper than the DWE7485. However, the rip capacity is actually the same on both saws! Both the GTS 10 XC and 635-216 have a rip capacity of 635mm. This rip capacity also explains the other part of the name (635). The GTS 10 XC is significantly heavier at 35kg, compared to 22kg of the 635-216. But it is also more than twice as expensive. This makes the GTS 635-216 very good value for money. It may not be as well built, or have as unique features at the 10 XC, it can cut almost the same height and rip the same width. With some attention, you can achieve the same results on the 635-216 as on the 10 XC, but for less than half the money.

The name sounds complicated, but it is actually quite simple: 635 stands for the maximum rip capacity, and 216 stands for the maximum size of the blade in millimeters. Compared to other Bosch table saws Let’s talk about price first. The TS 254 M and 635-216 are direct competitors with both costing about €325 currently. This means they can be compared purely on quality. The Bosch GTS 635-216 is the newest table saw by Bosch, and the entry-level machine in their blue‘Professional’ lineup. It is lighter and cheaper than the more powerful Bosch GTS 10 XC and it seems to replace the old green Bosch PTS 10 T, which is no longer available. Why it is called the 635-216

It is a clear improvement over the old PTS 10, which was limited by its build quality. It is therefore no surprise that the GTS 635-216 is now one of the most popular table saws on the market in Europe. As a result, the 635 can cut up to 70mm high, compared to the 79mm of the GTS 10 XC. This difference is actually surprisingly small. Most 216mm saws can cut less than 70, and most 254mm table saws can cut higher than 79mm. In this case, the bigger machine doesn’t have a big advantage. The most obvious difference between the two is that the 635-216 is smaller. It has a smaller body and smaller blade. Saw Blades and Cutting Height

How to Price Match

Build quality is always hard to judge from the outside, and can really only be proven after using a machine for a few years. Given that all three saws are quite new, we’ll have to wait some time to see what actual users report when using the machines for some time. Which then is the better saw? The answer is simple: the GTS 10 XC. It is larger, more powerful, more stable, has a better miter gauge and sliding table, and a better fence. It also uses higher quality materials.

While the GTS 635-216‘s miter gauge is made of plastic, the DWE7485 supplies a metal miter gauge, which feels like it will last for longer. The DeWalt’s miter gauge also has some holes to which you can add your own wooden or metal bar to make it bigger and more stable. The 635-216’s gauge does not have this. The miter gauges on these three saws are similar. They are all quite basic, and have no stops that can be set to ‘remember’ specific angles. This means every time you change the angle, you’ll need to re-measure to make sure it is accurate. Conclusion: Overall, the Metabo has an advantage in dealing with solid wood, thanks to the larger saw blade. The DeWalt and Bosch on the other hand are slightly better if you plan on cutting large sheet goods. For Further InformationWhile the 10 XC supports up to 254mm (10″) blades, the 635-216 can only do maximum 216mm blades. This also explains the 216 in the name of the saw. The GTS 635-216 Professional’s high cutting width is achieved as its rip fence is extended beyond the edge of the saw table and serving as a support. This allows panels of up to 635 millimetres to be cut to size. The DWE7485 on the other hand is just under €500 (but cheaper in the US), quite a step up from the other two saws. This means it will have to have some serious improvements over the other two saws to be good value for money.
