About this deal

On the BMPCC4K recording ProRes HD, the sensor area gives me the option to select 4K (UHD) or 2.6K or HD. So I could have no crop or some crop or full crop. You can apply a LUT in camera so that your otherwise flat raw profile looks better to view on your monitor. The best way to do this for most people is to preview the LUT in your in-camera view, without applying the look to the footage directly. This way you can later apply the same LUTs in your post-production software, while keeping all the original raw data in the recordings. There is the option to apply the LUT to the footage while recording, effectively flattening it and baking in the look, but it's probably best not to do this unless you are on a very tight production timeline. Focus Assist ProRes 422LT: 3480 x 2160p up to 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60 fps (51 MB/s) ;1920 x 1080p up to 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60/120 fps (12.75 MB/s) Stephen, you are close to understanding the options. You are asking about this with regard to both the BMPCC6K and BMPCC4K. Let me try to summarize with a simple example. I find crop factors a waste of time, trying to compare a 16:9 or 17:9 Cinema aspect ratio sensor with a still camera 135 sensor, why

Automatically populated lens data from electronic Micro Four Thirds lenses. Automatic recording of camera settings and slate data such as project, scene number, take and special notes Since Kodak's 1923 16mm film standard is 10.262 x 7.493mm, a 2.7K crop (2729/6144 = .444173 x 23.1 = 10.26mm) of the BMPCC 6K sensor would fit a lot of old 16mm lenses. Iris Control: Iris wheel and touchscreen slider for manual iris adjustment on electronically controllable lenses, iris button for instant auto iris settings on compatible lenses Just bear in mind that the 135 format itself was originally created as a sort of crop format of the then common 645/6x6 format cameras which we now typically refer to as medium format, which in turn were much smaller than the formats of the even older view cameras and the like, which we now tend to call large format cameras (for which the film came in sheets the size of a typical print).

If you’re starting from scratch then get yourself a good allrounder to start with, something like a 14-140mm that’s going to cover a lot of your bases. Although the BM doesn’t have image stablisation, many lenses do and when you attach one of those you’ll be able to switch that option on in your Setup menu. 7. Notable Features Dual Native ISO

With my 3400 mAh Hawk-Woods I get 1h15 plus the 44min internal battery, almost 2h straight ! I find no issues using the Smallrig plate and leaving the internal battery, as the Smallrig has regulated output.SD, CFast or external hard drive? Find out how to get the most storage for your money without compromising on speed or size in this article. How to Choose and Add Storage to the BMPCC Finally, and most importantly, the fundamental quality of its 4K video takes on much pricier cameras and, when you know how to work it, handles noise better than some full frame sensors too, thanks to its the dual native ISOs. John Paines wrote:Different color science versions, unknown normalization procedures, unknown grading procedures, changes in exposure..... Impossible to conclude anything from these comparisons. John Griffin wrote:I'm no electronics expert but when the voltage drops on a battery it's an indicator that then total energy is dropping (W=V*I) so how will this blow the camera as there is less power available to draw.In a way that is what is happening in the camera and your assumption is true for a simple resistive load but the camera is more complicated.

Would I be better off finding higher capacity LP-E6 batteries? I saw some (cheap) 3200mAH batteries advertised, which if correct, would exceed the capacity of the NP-F550. John Griffin wrote:I thought the camera just shuts down when the voltage drops below a certain limit or is this only on the battery port and not the 12v?That is a very good question. I don't know but I would expect the camera to have safety cutoff on the LP-E6 battery side in case the battery used does not have built-in protection.

Live Production

I am with John. Impossible to draw any conclusions. In the video description you wrote "graded with Film Convert" which for me is not grading but preset fast-fooding. Is the increased fps a feature only on the newer BMPCC's? Anyone else have the original and have had any success??
