I had already started writing the review yesterday evening, to be more specific. Like probably everyone who writes a review I sprayed the fragrance and then started typing to really have the scent in front of my eyes again. Sunshine I've had for a while ie I would have said until this evening that was more than enough time to get to know it. In 1983 the Sultan of Oman, His Highness Sayyid Hamad bin Hamoud al bu Said, had the vision to bring the ancient Omani art of perfumery to life. The original idea was to combine Middle Eastern’s most traditional ingredients, like frankincense, oud, and myrrh, with other unique components that were hard to find on the market at the time. For the first perfume, the Sultan of Oman employed one of the best perfume designers in the world, Guy Robert. And just like that, Amouage Gold was born. Today Amouage is recognized as one of the most expensive brands of perfumes in the world. It is on the market in over 30 countries worldwide, satisfying international clientele. They have expanded the Amouage product line in the past few years and included luxurious bath products, perfumed candles, and leather goods. Notable perfumers In the Amouage universe, the fragrance is quite unique: no incense, no leather, no oud, no animalism - wouldn't suit a pure hedonist either.

This (true) story hopefully shows the beauty of Sunshine Man to the extent that I intend it to. It is a special scent to me because it was one of the first sneeze scents I smelled. It smelled and smells mostly like sunscreen to me with a pleasant cedar note. Tested it first in the spring and then on and off over the summer. Today was now the right winter day to apply him again. I am not so much the dancer, then rather disco, where the dance arts are not so relevant. But that's not the issue now. So pompous words, so good. I probably can't hide the fact that I'm an Amouage fanboy, nor that my signature fragrance deserves less pompous words. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, scents are personal. Our enjoyment of them depends on preferences, memories, and moods. With that said, there are some distinguishable qualities of a luxury perfume that set it apart from cheap alternatives, namely longevity, scent story, and the bottle they come in.

On the skin you can smell the tobacco strongly out, in the air I have honestly almost not noticed it at all. The brand was the official perfumer for the Oman Royal Family. Its fine bottles are an homage to one of the country’s historic symbols, the Oman dagger, as seen as the hilt-shaped nozzle on its men’s perfume bottles. Yeah, it smells a little bit like summer day, summer forest, fall, I don't know.
