About this deal

Your squishy will be firm and ready to remove in about 30 minutes, but don’t squish it until it cures for about two hours. You know those squishy toys that you can't help but squeeze? Squishmallows are here! Discover the whimsical shapes, sizes, and designs of these squeezable, squishy toys called Squishmallows today at Claire's. Use puff fabric paint to make tiny sprinkles, icing swirls, Kawaii faces, and other super cute details. Be sure to let each color dry before applying the next. Be sure to read the safety instructions on the Foam-It kit! The manufacturer advises you to wear long sleeves, safety glasses, and rubber or vinyl gloves while handling the Foam-It liquids. Working in a room with good ventilation is also recommended.

Squishmallows come in many sizes. Your new squishable friend could be 3.5, 8, 13, or 16 inches. Can I Wash Squishmallows? Silicone molds are a must for making squishies! We recommend simple molds like donut pans, cupcake liners, or a cake slice mold. Even plastic cups work well as molds (when the foam rises out of the cup it looks like a cupcake!). To start, prepare the ice cream cones by cutting out strips of foil and wrapping them around each cone. Fold the overhanging foil around the base of the cone, a bit like a skirt, this will help to stabalise them in the cupcake tin. Place the foil wrapped cones into a cupcake tin. After your squishies have cured they’re ready to paint and decorate. If you want scented squishies combine a couple of drops of essential oil with the main paint color. Carefully scrape the combined parts into a silicone mold of your choice. Don’t fill it too high since it’s going to expand to 15 x the size of the amount you use.Yes! For gluten free you can replace the self raising flour with a gluten free self raising flour blend. If you only have a gluten free plain flour blend, you will need to add baking powder. The general advice is to add 2 tsp baking powder per 200g flour, so for this recipe you'd need to add 1 + ¼ teaspoons baking powder. You may also like to add ¼ tsp Xanthan Gum for better texture. For a dairy free version, use a dairy free baking spread and dairy free milk for the cupcakes and the buttercream. Do you need an electric mixer to make this recipe? Puffy fabric paint adds such a fun shine and texture to the donut squishies! You can also apply thin layers of acrylic paint to the squishies, but it will be matte and won’t have any dimension to it. How else can I make squishies? We have plush toys for kids and more. Shop Squishmallows and all squishy toys to find your next fluffy friend. They're perfect for kids, but if you are an adult who needs a little stress relief or joy in their life, we won`t judge! And they come in all sorts of colours and patterns to suit any taste! To make the cupcake batter, mix together the butter (or baking spread) and caster sugar. Then whisk in eggs, milk and vanilla extract. Next add self raising flour and fold or whisk in gently. The cupcakes will last for 2-3 days in an airtight container in a cool place. The cones will go softer over time due to the moisture from the buttercream. You can freeze both the cupcakes and the buttercream. To freeze them separately, wrap the cupcakes well in cling film or put them in an airtight container. The buttercream can be frozen in a sealed tub. To freeze them decorated, freeze the cupcakes on a plate until frozen solid, then carefully wrap in cling film. Remove the clingfilm when you take the cupcakes out of the freezer to defrost, as if they defrost with it still on it could damage the buttercream. Can you make the cupcakes with plain/all purpose flour? For the full recipe with measurements, head to the recipe card at the end of this post. How to make Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes We would recommend using up the foam kit within a day or two of opening the bottles. The paperwork with the kit says that it has a “limited shelf life” and that it should be used “as soon as possible”.There’s a bit of a learning curve when it comes to how much mixture to put into the silicone molds. Not enough, and the squishy won’t rise enough. Too much and the mold will overflow. It’s okay if your first pours aren’t perfect – just try again and you’ll figure out exactly how much to add! We made different batches of squishies over a week and each batch got progressively worse. The first donuts are still incredibly soft and squishable, while the later batches either collapsed or didn’t stay soft. Although it’s super easy, it helps to have a list of ingredients, step-by-step printable instructions for making squishies, and a good video on how to do it. Self raising flour, which is very commonly used in the UK where I am based, already contains a raising agent and a little salt too. Therefore if you want to swap it for plain or all purpose flour, you will need to add some additional baking powder and also a little salt if you like. Some people like to add salt to cake recipes and some don't, so I'll leave that up to you as it won't affect the bake. The general advice is to add 2 teaspoons baking powder (a measuring teaspoon, not the kind you stir your coffee with) per every 200g plain or all purpose flour. So for this recipe you'd need to add 1 + ¼ teaspoons baking powder. Please note, I have not tested this recipe using plain or all purpose flour. Can the cupcakes be made gluten or dairy free? The squishies are made using a Foam-It! kit, which is pourable polyurethane foam. The mixture is poured into a silicone mold, and then it will expand and cure into a soft, flexible foam. Once the squishies are unmolded they’re painted with puffy fabric paint! What molds work best to make a DIY squishy?
