Scooby-Doo returned in 1976 with 16 new half-hour episodes that were paired with another Hannah-Barbara show (Dynomutt, Dog Wonder) in a series called "The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour." The 16 episodes were later retitled "The Scooby-Doo Show" for reruns and are sometimes referred to as Season 1 of that series. These episodes aren't included, but are available separately. The gang is driving in the Mystery Machine (van), when their van develops engine trouble or breaks down for any of a variety of reasons The Mystery Machine runs out of gas in front of a rural farmhouse. There, the farmer warns them of an abandoned airfield nearby, which is haunted by a flying saucer and its ghostly extra-terrestrial pilot called the Space Kook.
