About this deal

There is no more Max-Q variant (formerly used for the low power variants) but every OEM can choose to implement Max-Q technologies (Dynamic Boost, WhisperMode). Scale application performance even more with NVIDIA NVLink technology that lets you combine two RTX A5000 cards to double the effective GPU memory and performance in a single workstation chassis to 48 GB.

The GA104 chip is manufactured by Samsung in 8nm (8N), which is not quite able to keep up with the 7nm node at TSMC (e.g. used by AMD and also for the professional GA100 Ampere chip). We also threw some Nvidia RTX A6000 scores in there. These were done on two different workstations with a 32-core Threadripper Pro 3970X and a quad core Intel Xeon W-2125 CPU. Meanwhile, the RTX A3000 and RTX A2000 only obtained a memory upgrade. As their names denote, the RTX A3000 12GB and RTX A2000 8GB now have 12GB and 8GB, respectively, twice the memory of vanilla RTX A3000 and RTX A2000. It's not just more memory, but faster memory. The RTX A3000 12GB and RTX A2000 8GB supply up to 336 GBps and 224 GBps, respectively, 27% more bandwidth than the RTX A3000 and 17% on the RTX A2000.Three to four years is quite a typical upgrade cycle in workstations, so the intention here is to give a good idea of the performance increase one might expect from an older machine. The RTX A4500 takes the place of the RTX A4000, with 46 SMs — four more SMs than the latter. In addition, Nvidia has doubled the memory on the RTX A4500 from 8GB to 16GB. The RTX A4500 also shows higher memory bandwidth with a rating up to 512 GBps, 33% higher than the RTX A4000. That again indicates the use of 16Gbps GDDR6. Hard drive retention: Hard drive retention is not available on models with a soldered hard drive, including XPS 9315 2in1, Chromebooks or Venue tablets, except the Venue 11 Pro. Ensure hardware compatibility and stability through NVIDIA support of the latest OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan, and CUDA standards, deep independent software vendor (ISV) developer engagements, and certification with over 100 professional software applications. There is no more Max-Q variant (formerly used for the low power variants) but every OEM can choose to implement Max-Q technologies (Dynamic Boost, Whispermode).

As you’d expect from Nvidia’s new ‘Ampere’ architecture, the Nvidia RTX A4000 also offers a significant improvement in processing. This can be seen in all areas of the GPU with more CUDA cores for general processing, third-generation Tensor Cores for AI operations and second-generation RT Cores for hardware-based ray tracing. It leads to a substantial performance increase in many different applications (see later on). With 256 Tensor Cores to accelerate AI workflows, the RTX A5000 provides the power necessary for AI development and training workloads. Incredible inferencing performance, combined with enterprise-class stability and reliability, make RTX A5000-powered desktop workstations ideal for professional AI training and inferencing deployments.

Mobile Graphics

Nvidia RTX A5000 (24 GB) The Nvidia RTX A5000 supports NVlink to pool memory in multi GPU configrations All tests were carried out using the AMD Ryzen-based Scan 3XS GWP-ME A132R workstation at 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution using the latest 462.59 Nvidia driver. The board also features four DisplayPort 1.4a ports and is cooled by a single ‘blower’ type fan, but only draws in cool air from one side of the card. Even so, the application is still CPU limited to some extent, so the performance benefit the new cards give you isn’t as big as you’d get from a dedicated real-time viz tool. It’s been just over two years since Nvidia introduced ‘Turing’ Nvidia Quadro RTX, its first pro GPUs with RTX hardware ray tracing.
